The Words I Could Never Say

the blind side

hold my hand

when no one is around

and lay me down

using the darkness

as our blanket.

we'll be two beating hearts

that both belong to you

except my ribs are a cage

blocking everyone else

from knowing.

come to me when you're down,

everything will be okay

even though i know

my body is just your stress ball,

you'll soon go back to her.

she smiles at me across the hallway

so oblivious to the blind side i am

and i nearly get down on my knees-

a habit

you taught me.
