The wrong one (Kaminari x Reader) 4000 words

It all started with a text. One from someone you weren't sure you had ever given your number too, but you were so excited receiving that message you weren't thinking straight.

Unknown number:
Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go out on a date with me this weekend.

Just seeing that made you confused, so you decided to ask some questions. You didn't particularly remember giving your number out to anyone and wished to know who had sent it.

(Y/n):
Um, who is this?

They responded almost immediately, showing just how eager they were for this. It confused you, there was no one you knew who liked you in that way nor tried to get close to you at all. This person had been straight forward, you didn't know anyone who would do that.

Unknown number:
Haha, don't you remember. I asked you for your number yesterday after class, it's Kaminari :D

Your eyes widened at the sight of that familiar name. You had only ever met one person by that name, a boy in your class who you were quite fond of. He was always full of energy and never failed to make you laugh with his ridiculous jokes and general antics. The truth was, you actually really liked Kaminari, this being the reason why it shocked you the most. You should've asked him who he thought he was speaking to, but the overwhelming beating of your heart seemed to rid your brain of all doubt.

(Y/n):
Are you sure you want to go on a date with me? I mean we barely know each other

You texted back, staring hopefully at the screen for his response. You wanted to give him the chance to say it was a joke if it was, he was known as quite the prankster in your class. Watching the chat carefully, you reread the previous messages before a new one popped up.

Kaminari:
Of course, I want to go on a date with you, you're the prettiest girl in our class. And if we hang out, I can get to know you better then.

You felt your entire face turn red, it was the first time a boy had called you pretty, not only that but the prettiest in class too.

(Y/n):
You think I'm the prettiest in our class?

Waiting, you felt like your heart was going to burst out of your chest. The vibration from your phone startled you, almost making you drop your phone. Securing it in your hand, you read the next message.

Kaminari:
Of course, you're gorgeous ^-^

Kaminari:
So do you wanna go on a date? You don't have to say yes if you don't want to, I mean I know there are plenty of guys who like you

Hearing that surprised you, you weren't unpopular but you weren't in the popular group. People knew who you and your friends were but you didn't rank in the top for popularity. But you seemed to ignore the red flags in this conversation and went with the only thing that mattered to you, the fact that your crush was asking you out.

(Y/n):
Yeah, I would love to go on a date with you

He responded immediately.

Kaminari:
Awesome, can we meet at the mall closest to school at 12 pm on Sunday?

(Y/n):
Sure, I'll see you there then :)

You smiled widely at the idea of going on a date with Kaminari, someone you had admired for a long time. Being completely unaware that he thought he was talking to a completely different person.
