CHAPTER SIX
LILAC

When I came out of the shower, it was nearing the time in which I would've been forced to get out. It was so long since I'd last showered, I almost forgot how to do it. But my body went into autopilot as soon a it touched the water and it moved for me as my mind relaxed and enjoyed the clear liquid that washed over me.

The clothes Lilac had promised were almost too tight, but it wasn't completely unbearable. I just needed clothes long enough for me to be able to get my own or to get my bag back. The only things that fit decently from the pile were a part of lightwash blue jeans and a fitted black shirt.

She'd picked out a pair of underwear for me and left them within the pile. I silently thanked her for the delicates and just put my old bra back on, knowing she couldn't have gotten me anything else without sizes.

I sighed as I sat on the squeaky bed and put on a pair of bright blue socks. Putting my hands behind me on the soft mattress, I leaned back and welcomed the comfort of the bed. I quickly discarded the pile of clothes to the floor then jumped back into the bed and hummed with delight.

My body aches as it begged me to fall asleep, allow it to recover and recharge. But Lilac bursting through the door prevented me from even attempting to do so.

"So, I'm guessing the clothes fit?" I felt the bed dip as she sat at the edge of the bed, pointing to the pile of clothes I'd discarded.

I shrugged. "Well enough." I sat up. "When can I get my bag back?"

Lilac fully turned to me, sitting indian style on the bed. "That's actually what I came in here to tell you, your bag is ready for you to be picked up. And, Alyx made a few new proper masks and has one for you."

I nodded. "So... when can we go?"

"Whenever you're ready."

I nodded, staring at her as she stood. I didn't move from my spot, I was too busy watching her movements to move. She open the door that connected our rooms, grabbed something from the hook connected to the door and turned back around. Her threw on a brown satchel and a plaid button down.

"Why did you insist we room together?"

My own damn moth betrayed me again. Thoughts spewing out without much control.

She stopped, fabric in hand and began to fiddle with the thread that hung off the bandana. Lilac twisted her mouth before folding her arms and leaning against the wall behind her.

"Well, I, uh." She blew our air. "I don't have many friends. And, believe it or not, not a whole lot of people like me very much. Apparently I talk too much?"

I snorted. "Yeah. I can see how that would be a problem with people who don't have much patience."

"So you're saying it's true? I talk too much?"

I purse my lips and narrow my eyes as I nod my head at her. "Unfortunately."

Lilac scoffed as she brushed her bright hair up into a ponytail. She tossed a hairtie to me before grabbing my mask from the bathroom and tossing it on the bed next to me.

I smiled to myself before tying the grey around my face, nuzzling my mouth and nose.

My voice muffled. "Thank God, I have patience."

Lilac's pinched eyes disappeared in her cheesed smile. "Let's go, Alyx is waiting. She probably has people lined up now that she has all the new masks."

i apologize , this was 1000% a 'filler' chapter. better things coming soon :)
