"You're shorter than I remember," Sasuke said, walking the (e/c)-eyed girl home. . There was a tiny, almost unnoticeable smirk on his face. Around (y/n), he enjoyed teasing and messing around with her.
"Whatever," She pouted, slightly puckering her lips as she stuffed her cellphone into her legging pocket. Kakashi still had yet to make an appearance. The girl assumed he got tired and went home without a trace; it should be easy for a talented Jonin like him to cover up his tracks.
It still left (y/n) bothered and the tiny devil on her shoulder seethed crude things in her ear, telling her that she was the reason why he left. She knew that, at the end of the day, an older, attractive, and successful man such as Kakashi would never care for a lowly sophomore girl such as herself.
Sasuke stuck by her side for the most part, teaching her how to properly squat, benchpress, and deadlift then told her all the benefits of each. It was something expected from an Uchiha. Regardless, it was admirable seeing such passion when talking about weights. (y/n) thought weightlifting was a hobby that men do so they can get swol, or whatever. After seeing Sasuke's point of view -and experiencing it- she could see why many people did it.
"Dozing off again?" Sasuke's deep voice questioned, looking straight ahead. (y/n) simply nodded, a small yet energetic hum in confirmation. "Why?" He almost laughed, but kept it in.
"Because I'm hungry," She said too quickly, saying the first excuse her mind could come up with. He turned his head and giving the girl a yeah-I-totally-believe-you look. The (h/c)-ette shrugged with a smile.
It sparked amusement in him, and, per usual, he masked it well. "So? Should I care?" He retorted, digging his nails into the palms of his pocket-covered hands. He was stupid when it came to -dare he say it- love. It was clear as a crystal that he wasn't the most expressive person in the world. People assumed he was a good flirt with charisma due to his blessed looks, but that was sadly not the case for him. In the end, he was just a ball of raging, super-sized emotions.
His stomach wailed like a humpback whale, and his fair cheeks flushed pink. A quiet giggle escaped her lips, nudging him with her elbow. "You sound hungry as well, Sasuke," She stated, referring to the beastly noise his stomach make. Before he could respond, it respond for him.
Thinking back to all the times he was hungry, Sasuke never heard his stomach growl so loudly. It couldn't be because I'm nervous, he kept telling himself. "You're hearing things," He said back, playfully shoving her back.
She was on the inside of the sidewalk, away from the street while cars zoomed passed them by. They were in the busier part of town where the honks of angry people that are stuck in traffic bounce off the walls of the buildings. Neon lights flashed through windows in hopes of catching the attention of onlookers. There were many people left and right, (y/n) tried her best not to accidentally bump into the wrong person whereas Sasuke was basically strutting his way through the crowd. People went around him since he was so tall but failed to realize the girl trailing behind him was his friend. They unconsciously pushed her back, separating her from the black-haired shinobi.
By mistake, she stopped in her tracks to get Sasuke's attention. "Sas-" (y/n) tried to call out but was elbowed in the stomach by a man that she accidentally cut off. It knocked the wind out of her, making her cough up some spit. The stranger that hurt her muttered a few colorful words as he scurried away so she wouldn't see his face, only his retreating form.
