Lauren POV

I'm trying to move but my left arm is killing me. It's been a while that my own thought is terrifying me. My eyes are too engrossed on the white ceiling for no apparent reason. I've been thinking how I ended up here? How I was so plainly stupid to cross that precautions that almost risk my own life? On top of it I've met this beagle handsome but confusing jerk for the second time around. I wish it was all dream, if I had to wake up tomorrow I'm in my own house curling in my own made bed, cooking for my restaurant and doing my daily routine, but clearly it wasn't dream. I removed the comforter covering my body. I stand up and made my way downstairs. I abruptly stop in front of the huge mirror display across the room I'm occupying.

There I saw my reflection, a skinny, tall and blonde hair woman with boring green eyes. A new version of Lauren Stella that exactly look like a mummy that had wrap by bandage gauze from almost head to toe.

I wanted to reach my bruise left cheek but my arms aching if I continue to move my hands.

"You look awful Lauren, no wonder your own parents don't even like you"

"No, you're not."

I heard a deep husky voice behind me. I turn around and met his hazel brown orbs. His thick eyelashes knitted into form of confusion.

"You, yourself don't like flowery words. Stop lying, I already appreciate how blunt you were."

I kind of mocked his own words last time.

"Are you hungry?"

I don't exactly know what happened to him. Normally he will pick a fight with me through unending argument but this time he change the subject abruptly.

"Are you planning to poison me? You're acting shady beagle head."

I completely stole his lines way back in the hospital.

"Can't I be nice green eyes. Come on, let's eat I haven't eaten dinner. Ms.Harper cook something before she left."

"Go ahead, I'll follow you downstairs."

"Nope, I doubt if you'll make it there safe and sound?"

Before I can comprehend of what he said, he already scoop me up bridal style.

"I have legs you know."

"I know but you're still clumsy as you are. Not gonna risk your long delicate legs."

"Thanks I'll take that as compliment."

I retorted back rolling my eyes on him. He gently placed me on the chair without bumping to one of my injured parts. He grab the two plates of chicken curry with a small amount of rice. He put it on the microwave for probably 10 minutes while preparing the utensils on the other hand.

"Orange juice or strawberry one."

"Just water please."

He grab some glass of water and place it in front of me.

"Thanks."

The sounds of microwave clicking, he abruptly went there and grab the food carefully. He's the most graceful man I've ever seen when working. I doubt if he actually a woman in his past life. But who am I kidding, he's insanely handsome but there is no way I'll tell him that.
