Chapter 37

Yunho bursted inside their office as soon as he got the news from the higher authority about the renewal of a case 10 years ago. It barely happened especially if the suspect already spent decades in prison for proving he/she was guilty.

"W...what is this about?",
He stammered confusely to his teammates and seeing none of them seems bothered, he realized he was the only one who wasnt aware of the situation so he sulk.

"Arent I trustable? Yeosang? We've been bestfriends since diapers. Semi? I respect you with all my heart, dont you think I could keep a little secret of something like this too?",
He dramatically sink in his seat and fake cry. The others still looking at him soul-lesly.

"And to think that all these times I thought you guys went on secret dates. Why arent any of you talking to me?!",
He burst out in anger which all seems too cute for the others to be angry back at him.

"Come on you big bear, dont be mad hmm? I'll treat you to dinner tonight and explain to you everything yeah?",
Semi cooed at the giant fluffy ball in the room. After the mention of food, he light up immediately and giggle to himself and took a small pause,
"I still didnt forgive you guys for giving me false hope", he glared at the two and continue with whatever he was doing. Yeosang and Semi look at each other and shrug their shoulders before getting back at their work as well.

Semi finally decided to reveal everything from the root. She asked for the case to be renewed and in order to do so, she needed a lot of evidence. The first step was Wooyoung finally confessing to the authority and she only needed evidence on how Seo Eunhye ran her over that night. 'There must be atleast one eye witness' ,she tried to think but fail miserably. Ofcourse she had already thought of all these when she first think of renewing the case, but she will need all the evidences she can have.

The two girls that died, Semi didnt kill them. It is true she blackmailed them and pressure them to confess but Semi will always be the old Hana, she wont hurt a fly, but she could if she have to.

After eating dinner with Yunho and Yeosang, Semi went back home by foot. She didnt bring her car today knowing after pouring some of her past, she will need a time to think about her life. She couldnt tell them everything but atleast they deserves to know who she really is.

She didnt hold grudges against the whole world, she is better than that. However, it is fair that atleast she gets the justice she deserves. A lot of bullying happens amongst the weak students and she unluckily happened to be one. But in her case, it wasnt because she was weak, she didnt know. It was because she is too strong for the world, she take all the assaults because she convince herself she could take them, she never tried to end her life because she knew those bully never last long. Karma always got them back, its either they dont have a bright future or they dont have a future at all.

The wind gush around the bushes and the trees were whirling around like a hurricane. The wind was pretty strong and it reminds her of 10 years ago exactly the same night on that chilly spring night.

She stood by the same river that held so many memories in her life. She misses her mother, but she didnt miss the old Hana. She deeply breathe in and out and hear a movement next to her. She didnt feel like looking up so the person scoot next to her and backhug her.

It all feels too familiar, his scent never changes and the tiny hands that wrap around her chest, no matter how many years passes, she will never forget the warm feelings she gets everytime he did it to her. For the first time in 10 years, she let the same tears slip from her eyes as he quickly brush them away from her after turning her around.

"You dont have to pretend to be strong anymore", he whisper in her ears and pull her towards his chest. She muffle a cry, not even bothering how her tears stained his uniform.

"You're an idiot Kim Hongjoong"
