I woke up the next morning next to Derek.

I rolled off of him and pulled on my robe and walked down stairs.

I turned on the oven and started to bake a cake.

Today was my first day of work.

I was nervous.

Derek came down stairs and hugged my waist. "What's up, babe?" he asked. "Whose ass am I kicking?"

"No one's. I'm just nervous,"

"About today?"

"Yeah, I'm meeting Katharine today,"

"Don't freak. I talked up. She loves you already,"

"Thanks baby," I said kissing him.

"Can you think of a better way to thank me?" he asked pinching my butt.

"One sec," I said purring the cake batter into the cake pan.

Derek opened the over door for me and I put in the two pans.

"So, where were we?" I asked.

Derek smiled and kissed me.

I wrapped my arms around him and he took off my robe.

There was a knock on the door and Derek sighed.

"I'll get it," I said closing my robe.

I walked to the front door and opened it.

"Finn?" I asked.

"Whoa, busy night?" he asked.

"You can say," Derek said from behind me.

I laughed. "Come in. what's up?"

"Nothing, just, you know, in the neighborhood,"

"Hey," Derek said.

"Are you baking?" Finn asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just nervous about today,"

"You'll be fine," Finn said smiling.

"Thanks,"

"Can I use your bathroom?"

"Sure. Upstairs to the right," I said as Derek went up stairs to get dressed.

I went back to the kitchen to make the frosting.

Derek came down stairs and smiled at me.

"I'll drive you to work and pick up,"

"Okay," I smiled.

"What's for dinner?" he asked.

"Cake," I said as Finn came down stairs.

"I can't stay long, I'm looking for a job,"

"Nice," Derek and I said.

"Where?" I asked.

"My dad's work,"

"Good luck," I said walking him to the door.

"You too, you'll do great,"

"So will you,"

Finn smiled and winked at me before he left.

I smiled and clothed the door behind him.

I hurried up stairs and got dressed. I pulled on a suit dress with nice black heels.

I pulled my hair back and put on light make up.

I put on my engagement ring and the necklace Derek gave to me.

I smiled and hurried down stairs.

Derek was on the phone laughing and smiling.

The cakes were out of the oven and cooling on the cooling rack.

"Okay, we'll see you there. Bye,"

"Who was that?" I asked icing the cakes.

"Lydia, she invited us to see her in broad way,"

"She's an actress?" I asked.

"Yeah, she's always been amazing,"

"When are we seeing her?" I asked.

"Next Saturday,"

"Cool," I said slicing the cake.

Derek and eat together then left for work.

I walked into my studio and smiled.

I walked over to my deck and sat down.

I had an hour to kill before Katharine came.

Suddenly, about ten people walked into my studio.

"Um, hello,"

"Hi, you must be Alexandra," a women in her late twenties said to me.

"Yeah, and you are...,"

"Jane Brook your assistant. You're husband hired us for you. He chose the best of the best."

"Thanks," I smiled.

Jane did a quick introduction and got me caught up on everything.

Then Katharine walked in.

I shook her hand and led her into my office.

We sat down and talked.

She was really cool.

We got most of everything planed out and dates set.

I was going to meet her husband tomorrow when we met again.

The rest of day I spend painting and talking to customers that walked in.

I sold two paintings and made three meeting.

Pretty damn good for my first day.

My workers were pretty handy today.

Derek picked me up right on time and took me out to lunch or pre-dinner, whatever you call that time between lunch and dinner.

Derek dropped my at my parents house and he left to go hang with the boys.

I hate when he hangs with the boys.

But it makes him happy, so it makes me happy.

I hung out with my mom and Kelly for an hour or so.

My mom left and so did Kelly and I was left in the house alone.

I sat on the sofa and eat ice cream as I watched black and white reruns.

"Yo Kelly!" Finn said walking into the house.

"She's not here," I said.

"Oh, hi, how was it?" he asked.

"Pretty damn good," I said grinning. "You?"

"I got the job. Once I told him who my dad was he jumped at it,"

"Nice," I said moving over on the sofa.

"Are you sure you want me to sit here. The last time I was here we did it,"

"Yeah, well, that's not gonna happen," I laughed.

"Damn,"

I laughed again and faced him.

"So, when are you going to start dating again?" I asked.

"When I stop loving you and I don't think that's going to happen,"

I looked up at him. "You still..."

"Never stopped. I can't I've tried for eight years,"

"I knew you still had a thing for me but...love?"

"I never stopped loving you and I never will," Finn said moving closer to me.

Our lips brushed together and he smiled.

I pulled away a little and looked at him.

It's short because this is not my computer :)
