When I met her and she smiled
It was the hardest thing I've tried to hide.
She was an angel in disguise but,
Either way she stole my eyes.

A medusa and
Athena
I both feared her
And I needed her.

But none of that's true anymore.
I realized hearts don't break if you're 10 feet off the floor.

There's no use going back now.
No point staring into clouds.
Mom, don't worry about me.
I'll be fine, I'll try to breathe.

All this time
I showed my teeth but never smiled.
Here's to no more faking peace.
Here's to landing eventually.
