MARGO GOT PERMISSION FROM MELISSA to attend Jacob's meeting with Joanna. The redhead promised the boy that she would try to be with him through anything he needs, with permission of skipping school of course.
"Jacob, before we begin, I want to make something clear. You're the client here. That means as much as possible, you're the decision maker. Not your parents, not your friend, not me, you." Joanna clarified.
Margo veered around in her seat, sending Jacob a delicate smile. Jacob nodded his head at Joanna, sitting up straighter in his chair.
"To the extent, if you wish to leave the decision making to your parents, because you're under eighteen, that's understandable. But by law in Massachusetts, a kid your age charged with first degree murder is tried as an adult. So I'm going to do my best to treat you as an adult, okay?"
Jacob nodded, wiping his now sweaty hands on his jeans.
"The theory seems to be that Ben Rifkin was bullying you. You bought a knife and when the opportunity presented itself, you took your revenge." Joanna noted.
"Wait, he was bullying you?" Laurie asked.
"Not really. I wouldn't call it bullying." Jacob admitted, fidgeting with his fingers.
