it was the next day and ron n carl agreed to go over to mikey's house to talk with him
ron was already at mikey's house so carl knocked on his door and waited a few minutes before mikey opened it and invited him in
carl sat down on the couch and mikey sat next to him "why haven't you been talking to anyone?" carl asked him softly and ron just nodded
mikey shrugged "i knew nobody would understand and everyone was busy with cleaning this place up" he replied back bluntly
carl sighed and placed his hand on mikey's shoulder gently "i understand what it's like to be out there and i understand what it's like to see those things"
mikey nodded and tried to hold back tears but it didn't work and he ended up crying in carl's arms "i saw him.. he was one of them" he managed to spit out
carl just nodded and held onto the broken boy before slowly rubbing his back with one hand "he's in a better place now" he whispered softly
ron soon joined in the hug and after a few minutes they all pulled apart and mikey smiled for once
"hey where's the bathroom?" carl asked in a soft tone before standing up and getting directions from mikey
"i'm gonna go check on him and make sure he found it" mikey said to ron before finding carl stepping out of the bathroom
"oh hey mike-" carl was cut off by mikey pushing him back into the bathroom and kicking the door shut
mikey started to lean in but carl stopped him as soon as he saw what mikey was trying to do "mikey i'm sorry but i'm with someone and he'd kill you if he knew you tried to do this"
mikey just nodded and looked at the floor "i'm sorry i don't know what i was thinking. i think it's because you know what it's like and nobody else here does"
"yeah i get that but i'm sure if you open up to people they can understand and help you" carl replied back softly and smiled before walking back to the living room
mikey followed him like a lost puppy and sat down again but looked at carl confused when he saw him heading to the door
"i gotta go babysit judith but we can talk tomorrow. bye guys" he said quickly before walking out the door

carl walked upstairs and opened his bedroom door before flopping down on his bed and let out a soft sigh
"how'd it go?" he heard daryl ask and felt arms around him
"well mikey is completely broken and tried to kiss me because i understand what it's like to see that shit" he said softly before wrapping his arms around daryl
daryl looked a little upset but planted a gentle kiss on carl's lips before scooting closer "if he tries it again i'll kill him.. same goes to ron"
carl just nodded in agreement and rested his head on daryl's chest before falling asleep and snoring softly
soon daryl fell asleep with a snoring carl still in his arms and smiled in his sleep slightly
they were soon awaken by rick opening the door and gasping "WHAT IS GOING ON!?" rick shouted which caused michonne to come running in
carl quickly got up and looked at his dad "i can explain but you need to calm down and go downstairs" he said calmly
rick ran towards daryl who had finally sat up and tried to hit daryl but carl punched him which caused rick to back away slowly
"GO WAIT DOWNSTAIRS NOW BEFORE I DRAG YOU DOWN THOSE STAIRS" carl shouted at rick before michonne pushed him out of the room so they could go downstairs and wait
carl turned to daryl and placed his hands on daryl's cheeks gently "are you okay? did he hit you?" carl asked in a soft tone
daryl shook his head and slowly got out of the bed "i'm fine but we should probably go down now"
they walked down the stairs and sat down on the couch "so what do you want to know" carl asked before holding daryl's hand
"when did this happen and how?" rick asked you could hear the anger and confusion in his voice and you could see it in his eyes
carl sighed and looked at rick and michonne "it happened when we were on the road" he explained
rick just shook his head and michonne nodded before smiling "well i approve of it as long as you make each other happy" she said softly
this caused rick to look at her shocked and sighed "i guess i approve but i don't want negan to know about this. he'll use it against us"
carl and daryl nodded in agreement before daryl spoke up "i'm sorry i didn't tell you rick"
"it's fine and i'm sorry for trying to hit you" rick said before giving daryl a short hug "we should all head back to bed" rick said
everyone all headed back to bed and fell asleep in peace once again and luckily none of the shouting woke judith up
