Chapter 12

Selena's POV

“Cause the players gonna play play play play and the haters gonna hate hate hate hate baby I'm just gonna shake shake shake shake shake shake it off shake it off”

“Good morning my lovely friend” I smiled as I pressed my phone against my ear.

“Good morning!” I heard Demi's enthusiastic voice echo from the other side of the line. “What are you doing today?” she asked, her voice full of hope, obviously for me to say 'hanging out with you'. And that's exactly what I said.

“If Darth Vader allows me to go” I added at the end only to hear her groan.

“Ugh what is he your father?” she groaned sarcastically. “No but he works for him” I thought to myself. Oh sweetie, if only you knew.

“Hold on,” I told her in a chuckle before calling out to Taylor who was currently on the couch as I was at the dining table reading the papers, “babe can I go to the mall with Dems today?” I asked politely.

“Like I give a shit” he responded before letting out a burp then taking a chug from his beer bottle. Man I hate that asshole.

“Pick you up in ten?” I heard Demi's disgusted voice as the sound of keys rattled in the background.

“Make it five?” I asked standing up only to hear her laugh before we bid goodbyes. “I'll be back later to make dinner k?” I said to Taylor as I grabbed my jacket only to hear him mumble something under his breath but I decided to ignore it.

I made my way down the stairs, not really feeling like taking the elevator today, before making my way outside only to feel the breeze hit my face making me shiver in my leather jacket. Ah the fall in Canada, always so good to me; note the sarcasm.

Suddenly, I see Demi's car pull up in front of my apartment building and I quickly hopped in as soon as it came to a stop.

“Hey girly” I smiled closing the door allowing the heat to hit me like a tsunami, and man did it feel good.

“Remind me again why you're not dating Justin?” Demi asked immediately making me send her a glare once I put on my seat-belt. “I'm just sayin'” she muttered, holding her hands up in defence only to cause me to roll my eyes in return.

“What's Justin up to anyways?” I asked Demi.

“Why are you asking me?” she questioned, the look on her face was hard to read.

“Just wondering if you knew, I mean you are living with his best friend” I stated looking at her weirdly. “Is there something going on that I should know about?” I added.

“Like I know. All they talk about is video games” she said concentrating, rather very hard on the road, which I found strange.

“Demi” I pushed further.

“What? He's probably coming over to my place to play video games with Ryan. I mean it is Saturday meaning no classes which also means video games all day” she said before we pulled up at a gas station. “Hold on, gotta fill up” she said before grabbing her phone and her wallet and exited the car leaving me to my thoughts.

“Demi is a terrible liar”

Justin's POV

“You've got to be fucking joking” I snapped looking at everyone. They all shook their head in return causing me to run my hands through my hair, tugging the ends during the process.

What the fuck am I going to do now?
