Catching up

Tiki’s Pov.

A loud clatter woke me up from my peaceful sleep, causing my eyes to flutter open and to look around my dark cage. I take note of the blanket over it to keep it that way, but I could see the hint of sunlight at the front of my cage.
“Oh cheese and crackers…!” A quiet panicked voice squawked, but I quickly recognized it as my geeky brother.
“Blu! In here!” I smiled brightly as I waddled over to the bars of my cage and tapped on it to get his attention. For a moment I didn’t hear anything before the soft sound of wings flapping, had come over. Blue feathers moved the blanket a little, Blu’s face popping into my vision, smiling brightly.
“Tiki!!” He yelled excitedly as he quickly unlocked my cage, and had let me quickly tackle him out of it onto the table.
“Blu it’s been so long i’ve missed you so much!!” I smiled at him as he laughed while hugging me, before he pulled the both of us back up onto our feet.
“How was your flight?” He paused for a moment, “On the plane I mean!” He added quickly as I chuckled at this.
“Blu the plane was just fine, I had no trouble.” I smiled as I held his wings with mine gently, while looking at him with an excited expression.
“Okay, how’s your mate? When can I meet her, my nieces and my nephew?” I asked eagerly as he laughed a bit and covered my beak.
“I see that you are really eager to go and see them, but they are in the Amazon. Many hours from here. I flew in just a bit ago after resting at a stop on the way here.” He responded and ruffled my feathers.
“After Túlio checks to make sure you're all good for the trip, we’ll be on our way whenever you want to.” He smiled, making me smile in return.
“Blu i’m too excited to wait so long! I need to stretch my wings for a long while.” I chuckled lightly as I looked at him, watching as he made a soft clicking sound with his tongue, faking irritation.
“You are so stubborn.” He huffed playfully and nudged me, making me smirk and pushed him slightly in return.
    “What did you expect? I am the cooler sister.” I teased as he pouted in my direction, causing me to laugh.
“Blu, cmon! I was only kidding.” I giggled and hugged him before pulling away at the sound of several footsteps, both of us looking over to Linda, Túlio, and Fernando.
“Well it looks like he got to her first.” Linda chuckled as she came over and affectionately petted Blu’s head feathers, making my brother instantly lean into her touch, and close his eyes with a big grin. I had even watched Linda pick him up like a newborn baby. I shook my head in amusement from how he continues to practically let her baby him but ignored it as it was still cute.
I watched as Túlio walked over and gently lifted my wings to check them for any sort of tension or stiffness. Finding nothing of the sort, he deemed me flight safe, which caused me to roll my eyes lightly.
“Okay, Blu. Stay with your sister okay? Go and show her around before you take her anywhere.” Linda told Blu as she kissed his beak and dragged Túlio and Fernando out of the house to run some errands. I watched this before turning to Blue excitedly. 
“C'mon! Let’s go to the Amazon!” I practically shook his shoulders while he made disorientated gurgling sounds which made me laugh and stop.
“Next time don’t shake the life out of me.” He held up a feather at me, which acted like a human’s pointer finger they would use when they were scolding a child.
“Okay, okay. Let’s get going!” I cheered and quickly grabbed his wing, taking off into the air. We had flown out the window that Linda had left open, which was built so that only birds could get in and out.
   

    Many hours later:

    Blu along the way, had explained everything that had happened with him and his family when they began their journey to the Amazon and after everything settled down. This however had left me with many emotions.
    “Wait, so...this Eduardo...called you a PET, and this...ROBERTO practically flirted with your wife and mate? Who the heck does that?!” My voice went from normal to dark and angry in seconds, making Blu’s eyes widen and panic.
    “Yes! But he and Jewel are only friends and Eduardo apologized! PLEASE don’t do anything you would regret later on!” He pleaded, making me huff in irritation. 
“He had better have apologized then or that old bird is getting my anger in a red, dangerous present.” I looked at him sternly but quickly changed my anger filled aura to an instant calmed one.
“Okay now i’m good.” I said simply while my brother rolled his eyes, and looked forward with an unamused expression.
“You are like a human woman on her cycle. DON’T, ask.” He muttered as we continued flying and had soon landed on the ground of the Amazon Jungle.
“It’s so beautiful here…!” Having gasped softly in amazement as Blu smiled over at me, nudging my wing slightly.
“C'mon you haven’t seen nothing yet!” He laughed a bit then quickly flew into the air, with me quickly coming after him so I wouldn’t be left behind. By the time we got to the protected location of the flock, I was much more shocked than I was when Blu explained it, but then again he IS a bit vague and overdramatic.
“Blu! Holy moly! This is better than what I heard about from you!” I squealed as I practically hopped in place, making him laugh.
“Cmon, let’s have you meet the family. Unless...you’re too tired?” He said slyly, making me give him ‘the look,’ then firmly grabbed his beak.
“Tyler Blu Gunderson! Do. I. Look. Tired. To. You?” I asked with a firm tone. His eyes suddenly widened before he quickly shook his head.
“NO NOT AT ALL!” He squawked and pulled away with a sheepish look then rubbed his beak gently with his wing.
“Sometimes I don’t even know if i’m really the oldest. You act so violent but you couldn’t even hurt a fly. Unless someone was messing with your family, that would be a different case...” He muttered to himself then fixed his feathers, making me smile slightly with a tiny giggle.
“Sorry Blueberry.” I teased and his eyes widened from the nickname. He dramatically groans and playfully glares at me.
“Oh come on! I thought we grew out of our childish nicknames.” He huffed, then his pout turned into a sly smirk, making my eyes widen this time.
“Blu don’t you dare think about it…!” I squawk and covered his beak with a dark blush on my feathered cheeks, but I pointedly glared at him. I quickly noticed his muffled response and momentarily removed my wing from his beak.
“I wouldn’t dare think of it...but you never said anything about me saying it! China Doll!” He laughed while I groaned, walking away from him to put a little bit of distance between us.
“Cmon, Blue! That was one time!” I whined and covered my face with my wing in embarrassment, making him smile but shake his head.
“Tiki, you dragged that doll around everywhere you went until it broke and you threw a hissy fit over it. You didn’t let anyone touch you for a week from your pouting!” He smiled softly as he delved into the memories when we were little.
“The only reason you left your cage was because I offered you a new one when Linda bought you an exact replica of that doll, and handed it to me.” He smiled warmly and gently pushed my wing off my face and hugged me.
“I know I know, but I was young okay?” I pouted as I looked at him then sighed, softly smiled as his grin was contagious.
“Now let’s have you meet Jewel and the kids.” He smiled and we both flew off together to visit Blu’s home tree.
