A/N: I know everyone hates author's notes. But if you happen to read this one feel free to leave requests for alternate universe Rex one-shots. There's a serious lack of Rex x readers out there and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring with what I think is original.

Leave requests here (or at any time in comments honestly):

Enjoy the story!

An Updated AN: Please excuse this chapter. I'm leaving this up because some people like it, but this is by far the worse chapter of this one-shot book. Please take a look at the other chapters! I highly recommend "Morality"
Thanks!

(Your POV)

Your first semester at GAR university had been pretty boring so far. Your peppy roommate Ahsoka would not stop trying to get you to join clubs and activities, so you just wanted to find a quiet place to study. One day, you decided to escape to the library without letting Ahsoka know where you went.

After a few hours of studying, you decided to get up and pace around for a while to stretch your legs. The smell of books was relaxing to you, and you felt a yawn coming on. You must have been pretty fatigued by it, because you lost your balance for a second. You had accepted your fate that you were about to hit the ground, but a surprisingly strong arm caught you-

You opened your eyes to see... a book? No. Behind the book was a man. And this man was more handsome than any you'd ever seen before. He slowly lifted you up, and closed his book, tucking it under his ripped arm. You started looking him up and down, realizing he was absolutely shredded. This was the last person you expected to see in a library. Then you realized his mouth was moving.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry. Could you repeat that?" You said, your face becoming red with embarrassment.

"I said, are you alright, miss?" His voice melted your heart. It was a confident sounding voice, but comforting at the same time. "Studying too hard?" He said, with a slight chuckle.

"Um, yeah, heh. I was just trying to take a break. Thank you for catching me, uh..."

"It's Rex." He said, holding out his hand for a formal handshake. You found this a little odd, but obliged.

"I'm (Y/N)." You said, firmly grasping his hand and giving it a shake. Both of you laughed a little bit, but not too hard. This is a library, remember.

"I know the perfect place for a break," Rex says, turning around but keeping his eyes on you. He motions for you to come with him, and you start following. He leads you to a corner of the library where there weren't a lot of people. In the corner was a door that could only lead to outside. He opened the door to reveal a small balcony with a few tables and chairs on it.

"Oh, wow! I didn't know this was even here!" You said, as Rex held the door for you to walk out.

"Most people don't. I kind of happened upon it one day by accident." He says. "But I've always wanted to show it to someone..." he says, turning away from you slightly while he closed the door. You took a seat at one of the tables that overlooks part of your college campus.

"So, tell me about yourself, (Y/N)." Rex says.

"Well, I've been a student at GAR for only a couple of weeks, and the only new friends I've managed to make are my roommate Ahsoka and... I guess you." You say, blushing a little. You could see the color rising to his cheeks as well.

Rex muttered something, but you couldn't quite hear him.

"Sorry, could you say that again?" You said.

"It's nothing." He said a big awkwardly. This seemed pretty out of character- even if you did only know the guy for a few minutes. Just a minute ago he was confident and calm. There must be something on his mind.

"How about you? Are you a first-year too?"

"Nah, this is my second year at GAR." He paused for a second, seeming to think about something. He looked at you and started tapping his foot nervously. "Have you got anyone special back home?" He asks, quickly looking away from you to avoid eye contact.

Ah. You see what he is trying to do here. The poor guy is flirting... but he doesn't seem to really know what he is doing. You let out a little laugh and put your hand on top of his, which was resting on the table between you two.

"No. I actually could use another excuse to get away from my roommate. You know, something like..."

"A date?" He asked, and you nodded. His eyes lit up immediately. He obviously knows now that you caught on to what he was trying to do. He seemed relieved that the hard part is over. "Well, if that's the case, I better step up to the plate. How does later tonight sound?" He asked, gaining confidence in himself.

"I actually am enjoying this right now. It's really peaceful up here." You say. Your eyes meet his as you two move a bit closer than before. Your eyes drift down to his lips, and his hand moves to cup the side of your face. Finally, as if he couldn't contain himself anymore, he closes the gap between your mouths and gives you a passionate kiss. It wasn't too long or too short. You two open your eyes at the same time, and you both smile.

"I really like you, Rex." You say, interlocking your fingers with his.

"I feel the same, (Y/N). I'm looking forward to spending more time with you. But this, right now... this is perfect."

You take another look at his blushing face. You turn to look at the secluded part of campus full of beautiful plants. And as the sun sets, you feel like you are completely content in the moment. Even though you had only known Rex for a little while, it felt like you could spend a lifetime together. You lean your head on his strong shoulder and watch the beautiful colors in the sky.

The end.

(A/N): I've never written one-shots before, because I tend to add way too much detail in my stories and ramble on. If you like long, detailed stories with a lot of self-reflection, check out my other book "Day Job in Hell."

Let me know what you think! And leave a request for this one-shot book of other scenarios I could write about.

Thanks for reading!
