ELAINE KEPLER is kind of extravagant; nothing, from her pointy ears to her bubbly personality, is accepted in Wool's Orphanage, where both kids and adults are rather dull. She doesn't understand why she destroys things when she's upset, or why no one except herself can communicate with the ginger cat that sometimes comes through the window. It isn't until the age of eleven that she learns she is a witch through a visit from a man whose green eyes radiate safety, and from then on, things slowly start making sense. But no witch or wizard can speak to animals, and no one was born in the exact moment a dark wizard died, or under the strongest eclipse of all times... So, does anything make sense at all?
(Because not even her feelings for a certain blue haired boy make sense! Ugh!)
