Dave was not catching on. I flirted shamelessly with him, everyone else in the cast had noticed but him. He was too caught up in his piano. Always practicing, or cleaning it, or listening to music for it. It was consuming him. I needed to step up my game. I was already following him around like a lovesick puppy, and I honestly couldn't risk doing anything more. So one day after a long day or rehersal, I went to him. "Hey Dave." I said. He barely even looked up. He was dusting the piano keys. "Huh? Oh, hi Bern." Bern. He didn't call me Bernie anymore. For some reason, that made me sad. I kind of liked that he had a nickname for me. "Well, you've looked a little stressed lately. Wanna go to a Starbucks and just talk and cool off and stuff?" I blurted. Damn, that sounded REALLY desperate. He didn't seem to notice. "You know what? You're right. I'm way too stressed. I'd love to go. Just let me grab my coat." He said. I nodded. Yes! He was going out with me! He didn't exactly know it was a date but... I was still excited. He got up, his hair flipping in his face. I swooned when he left the room.
