Carver scans the once familiar area, watching as the SHIELD agents in their black jumpsuits move around the room like a tornado trying to get everything set up and into Nick Fury's hands. He turns his attention to the cream colored files laying on the large desk table, scanning each of them briefly before he looks up at agent Hill. Who passes Natasha a file, scanning the pages quickly before she hands them over to Carver. He scans the file carefully, reading over every detail to make sure he doesn't miss a beat on any of the information. A chill runs up his back when he flips the page, a pair of all to familiar brown eyes stare back at him.

Causing his heart to skip frantically in his chest. Feeling like the air around him was getting smaller and smaller by the moment. His hand moves restlessly against the paper. Staring hard at the picture once more before meeting Natasha's worried gaze.

"Grayson?" Natasha asks puzzled at his quietness. "What's wrong?"

"Nothings wrong. It's just been awhile." Carver asked, trying to stay calm. His cold gaze glances back down to the photo. The dark eyes watching him.

He couldn't place where he knew this man from but his name and face ached with familiarity. Why couldn't he place him? Everything about the tall dark haired man seemed familiar sending an uneasiness over him. And without even thinking he hands the file back to Agent Hill.

"Who is he?" Carver asks, watching as Maria sets the file on the table with ease. Her blue eyes glancing back up at him.

"You don't remember him?" Hill replies eyebrows raised with shock.

"Am I suppose too?" Carver questions, his eyes landing on the photo of Milos Ryker once more.

"He was a main scientist one who worked with your mother long ago. It would make sense you wouldn't recognize him. You were only a small child at the time." Maria began to explain. "He was your fathers right hand man. Until-"

Carver freezes for a moment. Trying to remember any of it. But nothing comes to mind. It's almost as is a concrete barrier is blocking his memory of the past. One he can barely remember.

"Until what Agent Hill?" Carver asked, glancing quickly at Natasha before running his eyes back over Maria's stoic face.

Still she continues to keep quiet. Which only makes Carver more irritated. But if she wasn't going to tell him anymore about his past maybe his father finally would? He has trusted him enough to come this far with SHIELD maybe just maybe he would trust him with the past too.

He couldn't remember much of his mother other then she died when he was seven years old in a science experiment gone wrong at SHIELD. And that his father has always blamed himself for her death. And when he would ask anybody else for information on his mother he always got the same response. What he had always been told over and over until one day he had finally got tired of asking. He hasn't spoken of her since. She had always been a distant speck in his memory and he wishes he could remember more of her.

The large glass door to the entrance of the conference room opens wide. And all eyes land on Tony Stark. He wears a tight cocky smirk across his lips as he stops in the middle of the room. Tinted sunglasses covering his brown eyes as his smirk turns into a smile.

"Natasha. Spy kid! Did you miss me?" Tony arrogantly asked, pulling Natasha into a brief hug. "It's been a minute. What a couple of years?"

"Something like that." Natasha simply replies. Stepping out of Tony's arms and glancing at Carver.

Tony gives her one long last glance before he turns his brown eyes on Carver. Clasping a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, Tony." Carver replies. His gaze following over Tony's figure his eyes falling onto Coulson and the main man behind SHIELD himself. Nick Fury.

"Where are Banner and Rogers?" Hill asks, glancing at the two men before her eyes run over the file one more time.

"Right behind us. Should be here any minute now." Coluson states, standing behind Nick.

Carver settles into one of the black leather chairs. Not bothering to say hello to anybody else. He wasn't really good with speaking his feelings. And that's one of the many reasons he was alone. It was hard to get through the brick wall he had created for himself.

His own little safe place he had created since he was a teenager. It had kept him safe and it will continue to do so. With this thick cold brick wall nobody could hurt or disappoint him except himself.

"Ellis." The name has Carver's head snapping up in the direction of the name. His eyes landing on a tall dirty blonde hair man. A tight smile on his lips but there was a sharpness behind his blue eyes. There always was. Since Carver was a boy his dad had always held the same stoic gaze and a warm brazing smile.

Carver never could understand how somebody could be charming and equally scary at the same time. He can't help but let his eyes drift over to Natasha. But then so was Natasha. Her green eyes met his for a brief moment before he tore his gaze away from her. His heart beating faster against his chest.

He stood up from the chair. Backing it away as he came face to face with his dad. Shaking his hand firmly. As if they weren't even blood. Father and son. As though his dad treated him just like any other employee of SHIELD. Hell, sometimes his father had treated them better.

"Carver." His father nods, sharp and firm. Just like their handshake.

"Ellis." Carver mutters, saying the word dad felt like swallowing poison. In fact swallowing poison felt better then saying the word dad. It felt almost foreign coming off the tip of his tongue and so he doesn't say it. Instead he asks. "Where's Riley?"

The door opens to the conference room and  a few more SHIELD agents walk in along with Clint, Steve, and Bruce. And then Carver smiles when he sees her. A real genuine smile. A long over due one.

She smiles when she catches sight of him. Rushing towards him despite the room being somewhat a little to crowded. She didn't care. He was finally back home.

"Carver!" she says wrapping her small hands around his shoulders. Pulling him into her chest.

"Riley!" he says with relief, enjoying the hug for a moment before stepping back to take one long look at her. She had grown. She wasn't the same little kid he had remembered. She had gotten taller. Older.

"It took you long enough to come back home to see us." She replies, pulling him back into a longer hug. "If I would have known all it took was Natasha coming to get you I would have had dad send her along time ago."

"Sorry Rile" He breaths in, watching her pull away from his grasp. She seems almost sad and he hates himself for making her feel that way. It never had been his intention to hurt his sister. He just had to get away for a little while. Ultron had been a lot on all of them.

"Well I'm back." He begins, turning his attention to see Steve, Bruce, and Clint. He shakes their hands.

"For how long?" Riley questions.

"For as long as I'm needed."
