Screams, blood curdling screams, come from a place I know, but don't recognize.
Cries, heart-wrenching cries, come from behind me. The voice is that of one I remember, but of who I can't see.
A shadow, so frightening you want to run, but can't.
That's when I wake with a flinch.
Oh well, it was only a dream.
A dream...?
No, a nightmare....?
Or maybe...
A memory...?
