"Let's go on a date,                         
You, me, dinner and a movie.
We'll hold hands and make small talk,
We'll clash knees and gawk.

I'll hold the door open and pull out your seat,
I'll bring you flowers with a kiss on your cheek.
I'll lend you my hand to walk on the road,
I'll lend you my coat to survive the brutal cold.

I'll smile at your bad attempt at humor
And stare at you because of your passionate banter.

I'll be a perfect gentleman,
The one your mother would approve of,
The one your dad will always talk of."

Here I am in the bar that we met,
Wearing a jacket with gel in my hair,
Looking for the courage grandpa had,
When he whisked grandma away on a horse's back.
With a poem learnt by heart to say,
To ask you out on a pretty little date.
