I got introduced to Asian dramas through K-dramas and I'm sure most people can say the same. I remember I was only eight years and these drama used to play on our cable TV. I didn't watch them at that time as I was too young to understand or care.
It was later on, when I was 10 that I was touched by the drama Dae Jang Geum but still I wasn't that interested to follow it up. I didn't know at that time that there was more from where that came from.
In my teenage years, I would randomly follow asian series they played on Sunday night on our cable TV. I'm saying cable TV because back then watching stuff online was not a thing. Boys Over Flowers was what left an impact on my teenage life, making me hunt for k-dramas later on in life.
At the beginning the tropes they had for me worked, they made me swoon. And now they make me roll my eyes if not executed well.
