The room suddenly got hot and so did Kai's face. It was completely red. He innocently looked up at Soobin, his eyebrows slightly furrowing in bashfulness.

"C-cute?" Kai stuttered.

"Yeah.. you're cute." Soobin took the little fairy's hand between his fingers.

"Very cute." A smile curled up across the human boy's face as he looked deep into Kai's eyes.

Kai felt his heart jump out of his chest as he looked down.

"No human.. has ever complimented me like that." Kai slowly looked back up at Soobin.

The older boy noticed that the fairy's cheeks were completely red.

"Y-you're making me blush," Kai placed his palm on his cheek, bashfully looking away again.

"That's so adorable," a pout formed in Soobin's face as he poked Kai's cheek.

"You're so cute, Huening Kai." He used a finger to rub the fairy's head.

"W-well.. I think you're handsome then!" Kai used his tiny fingers to pinch Soobin's cheek like a baby.

He then regretted saying something like that, thus he mentally slapped himself.

Was it too obvious that he liked Soobin?

Soobin was taken aback in confusion.

Him? Being called handsome by the cutest fairy boy ever? No way. Soobin's entire face then turned crimson red.

"H-handsome? Me? You're kidding.. right?" He laughed.

"I'm serious." Kai looked up at him, pouting.

"You're too kind..." Soobin shyly covered his face. He found Kai to be very attractive and endearing.

After spending all night together, Kai put Soobin to sleep again and kissed his forehead, gently fluttering away and coming back the next night or whenever he was alone.

This went on for a few months and their bond and trust grew so much. Whenever Kai came fluttering over, Soobin felt so happy.

Even at school, Beomgyu noticed that Soobin was happier and way more energetic.

His grades were getting better and he was participating more in class. It was kind of weird, as if he was under some sort of spell or something.

"Kai? Kai!" Taehyun whisper-yelled.

"Hmm? What happened?" Kai asked, chirping. "We need to go, Yeonjun and I came to get you." He whispered again.

Yeonjun popped out from behind a tree, fluttering over to the windowsill that the two were sitting on.

"The kid's gonna wake up, let's gO-" Yeonjun stopped in his tracks, dead silent and still.

Through the darkness he saw the moonlight light up the young and curious face of Soobin.

He was looking at all three of them. Taehyun and Kai were still too.

"Woah.." Soobin spoke, moving a bit. All three fairies were still completely sill.

"There are more of you, huh?" Soobin came closer, making Yeonjun and Taehyun flinch.
Soobin saw two more fairies beside Kai.

One of them had brown hair and those same pure white and translucent wings he saw back at school. The other one had electric blue hair and shiny jet-black pointed wings.

"We're screwed." Yeonjun whispered.

"N-no, no- you aren't." Soobin stood up and went towards the windowsill. Yeonjun and Taehyun hid behind Kai, looking up at the curious human boy.

"He won't hurt us." Kai gently spoke. "He's just.. new to all of this... don't worry." The little fairy spoke.

"So you guys truly exist..." Soobin bent his head down, taking a better look at the other two fairies.

"Please don't tell anyone," Yeonjun nervously begged.

"Even if I did tell anyone, nobody would believe me.." Soobin looked down.

"I've seen you before.." Taehyun spoke.

"Many, many times before. With Beomgyu" The fairy nervously blinked.

"Huh? You know Beomgyu?" Soobin's eyes widened in amazement.

"Yes, Beomgyu. You two are friends." Taehyun slightly smiled, warming up to the human almost instantly.

Yeonjun thought out of all people, Taehyun would be the last to warm up to the human but he was wrong.

"I sometimes watch Beomgyu from afar.. I find him interesting." Taehyun placed his finger against his lip.

"Unlike Kai, I don't get myself caught." He poked the younger fairy on the cheek, making Soobin giggle.

"Hey, cut it out!" Kai pouted, making Taehyun and Yeonjun laugh.

"I'm honestly amazed that you guys really exist.. I'm not dreaming!" Soobin looked at them in awe.

"I think fairies like you are very beautiful." Soobin used a finger to rub the blue-haired fairy's head, making him blush in embarrassment.

"Us? Beautiful?" Kai looked up.

"I think each and every one of you are beautiful in your own unique way. Especially you, Kai." The boy gently smiled.

"Awh, thank you, Soobin." Kai smiled back.

"He's totally in love with Soobin," Yeonjun giggled, whispering into Taehyun's ear which Kai heard.

"Anyway," Kai spoke up again, straightening his tone as his face heated up. Hopefully Soobin didn't hear what Yeonjun said.

"These are my two best friends, Yeonjun and Taehyun." Kai smiled, pointing at them.

"It's nice to meet you two." Soobin held out his finger, letting the two 'shake' his hand. He found the other two to be endearing in a way.

"Anyway.. we gotta go." Yeonjun looked down as a sigh escaped him. "I think you should. There are crows out here looking for food. I don't want you three to get hurt," Soobin looked at them.

"Thanks," Taehyun smiled at him. Yeonjun and Taehyun then turned into birds and flew off the window, sitting on a branch and waiting for Kai.

"I'll see you tomorrow night. Goodnight." Kai whispered into Soobin's ear with a smile.

Soobin nodded, and with that Kai and his friends flew away into the calm night.

What none of them knew was... That they were being watched.

Watched by a Black Swan, perched up on the roof.

Completely invisible in the darkness of the night....
