"Uh. Why is it so boring here?" Y/N mumbled under her breath, slumping against her 'bed' and closing her eyes. Since being catnapped (See what I did there?) by Macavity, Y/N had lost contact with the outside world almost completely.
It'd only been a month, but to Y/N it felt like a lifetime. She led down on her makeshift bed and let her thoughts wander. What time was it? Where even was she? Where's the food at? Would she ever see the Jellicles again? Those kind of thoughts occured several times a day, commonly every hour.
Since Y/N had nothing better to do, she'd often find herself lying on her 'bed', contemplating life. Suddenly, a knock at the door snapped Y/N away from her thoughts, and she sat up quickly. "Come in." Y/N said gloomily. She knew full well who it was.
Y/N didn't know why Macavity felt obliged to knock every time he entered the room, he never bothered to knock when he took her that night.
The door slowly opened to reveal exactly who Y/N had expected. Macavity. He strode forward and stopped in front of where Y/N was sitting.
She raised an eyebrow, and Macavity threw a fish to her. Y/N caught it and watched him closely as she began to eat.
It wasn't anything like the sort of stuff she'd normally eat in the junkyard, but it was better than nothing. The two cats sit in an awkward silence for a while, before Macavity cleared his throat.
"Why are you staring at me?" He asked in a gruff voice, looking back at Y/N suspiciously. Y/N shrugged and carried on watching him. "It's kinda creepy to be honest." He said, half expecting Y/N to either look away or answer.
When she did neither of those things, he carried on and tried a different approach. "Your fur looks nice and shiny today." The Tom said, forcing a smile.
Y/N was slightly surprised, but simply rolled her eyes and drew her attention back to her food. Macavity scowled and watched her from the corner of his eyes.
"Why are you staring at me?" Y/N asked, mocking him. "Oh, so now you're talking." Macavity smirked, and Y/N rolled her eyes at him again. "Why the heck do you want to talk to me anyway? Aren't I meant to be your prisoner?" She asked, and finished the last of her fish.
"Well I've got nothing better to do." The reddish ginger tom replied. "It's a bit weird though." Y/N said, looking up at Macavity again. "What's weird about it? I'm only talking to you." He said and crossed his arms.
"You just don't usually captor someone and then start making small talk with them every time you come in the room." Y/N retorted.
Macavity scrunched up his nose and shrugged. "Have you got a problem with that?" He asked. "Yes." The young queen answered shortly.
"Well no. But yes."
"Well yes or no? Make up your mind."
"No." Y/N finally said, her ears drooping slightly. As much as she hated Macavity, he was the only cat to talk to around here."Alright then." Macavity smirked, laying down. Y/N shuffled backwards slightly. "What are you doing?" She asked, a small tone of anger present in her voice now.
"Laying down."
"Why?"
"Why not?"
"Do it somewhere else."
"Why?"
"Because I said so."
"No."Y/N tutted and turned away. Macavity sighed happily and then stretched. "Can you go away please?" Y/N asked bitterly. "Um... No." Macavity smiled.
Y/N turned back around to face him. "What?" Macavity laugher, throwing his paws up in defence. Y/N picked up the bone from the fish she ate earlier and threw it at his face. "Oi!" The tom cried, holding his nose.
"What the heck was that for?" "You were disrespecting my personal bubble." Y/N growled, making a circle shape with her paws.
"Well I'm sorry." Macavity said sarcastically, sitting up. "Whatever." He added shortly. A silence yet again feel upon the two cats like a sheet of ice.
"Your fur does look nice today though." He smiled, brushing a but if dirt off of her shoulder. Y/N pushed his paw away. "You're doing it again." Y/N said, desperately trying to stop her cheeks from heating up, but couldn't quite manage it. Why was she like this?
"Seriously though, don't you have someone to shout at or something?" Y/N asked. Macavity thought for a second, then shook his head. Y/N sighed.
Little awkward meetings like these occured quite often, too often for Y/N. She waa getting used to having Macavity around, and his permanent presence. Sometime she forgot what things were like before this debacle. However, one thing was for sure, she missed what things were like before.
"Come in." He could just walk in at this point and Y/N wouldn't bat an eyelid. As per usual, Macavity sat on Y/N's makeshift bed, and she raised an eyebrow, waiting for his excuse to come and see her this time.
The tom cleared this throat, and spoke in the same gruff voice that Y/N had come to know. "Y/N." He started, and Y/N plastered a fake smile on her face. "Wow, you know my name!" She exclaimed sarcasically, gasping. Macavity smiled slightly but ignored her.
"Be quiet before I change my mind." He practically snarled, but Y/N didn't even really care at this point. "Change your mind about what?" She inquired. "Shut up and maybe I'll tell you, chatterbox." Macavity snapped, adn Y/N went back to raising an eyebrow.
"Look, I'm setting you free." He said quickly. "Oh, of course you are- Wait, what?" Y/N exclaimed as realisation hit her. "What the heck. You're just setting me free, like that?" Y/N clicked her fingers, and Macavity nodded.
"What's the catch?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him. "No catch." Macavity assured her, shrugging. "Wha- I don't understand." Y/N mumbled in disbelief. "What's not to understand sweetheart?" Macavity lifted Y/N's chin so that they were looking eye to eye. Y/N stared, stony faced, into his dark eyes.
"I'm setting you free. You can get the hell out of here. Boom. Gone." Macavity said as Y/N pulled his paw off of her chin, conscious of how close their faces were. When Y/N still just stared at him, Macavity sighed.
"You. Can. Leave." He said again, waving a paw impatiently. It looked a lot like he was swatting flies. "R-really?" Y/N asked suspiciously, still not really believeing him. Macavity nodded once again.
"Go on, pack your things. You're leaving now." He smiled, or at least it looked like he smiled, apart from the fact that it seemed to be causing him great pain on the inside. Fighting down the urge to hug him, Y/N smiled slightly too. "I don't have any things." She said flatly.
"Alright then, unless you want to say goodbye to the dead flies or something, then let's get out of here."
~Timeskip to outside the junkyard~
"Are you sure this isn't a trick?" Y/N asked, staring up at Macavity in wonder. "Yes, geez Y/N, you've asked that about 10 times now." He snapped back.
"Well I'm sorry." Y/N mumbled, and crossed her arms. "Well, off you go. See you." Macavity said, shooing her away with his paw.
"No." Y/N smirked shortly, and looked him straight in the eye. "What?" "I said, no." Y/N repeated, slightly louder.
"Well why not? Look, freedom is right there, what the hell is-" The Tom was suddenly cut off by Y/N tiptoeing and putting her lips against his.
Macavity was very surprised at first, to say the least, but soon melted into the kiss, putting his paws on Y/N's waist. Y/N pulled away, smiling.
"-Wrong with you." Macavity finished, blushing furiously. "What the hell was that?" He asked, obviously embarrassed, but the smile didn't falter from Y/N's face.
"It's called a crush. Get over it." Y/N laughed, waving a hand impatiently. Macavity stayed silent, too stunned to move or speak. "When did this- Why?" He asked in bewilderment.
"It doesn't matter now. It's cold out here. Bye." Y/N said, planting a kiss on his cheek before turning tail and wandering into the junkyard.
"What the hell?!" Macavity whispered, but couldn't help but smile softly. "What the hell."
