This story came from a dark place of anxiety, fear, need, desperation, but also a burning hunger to be loved and accepted. In the story, Spencer kidnaps and kills many women. He's seen as crazy, but all he really wants is love and acceptance. Though he finds peace in hurting like another may find peace in addiction. He's a smart man with his use of timing and strategy, but uses it for the wrong reasons. He's been looking for the "right one" of many different girls, but none care for anything about him - mostly because he's a kidnapper and a murderer. These girls are all so young in the story - all of legal age, of course - to show innocence and youth. Hayley, inspired by Harley Quinn, however, falls for him. Maybe it's true love, maybe it's because she went so insane from being trapped in her situation that she can't think right, or maybe it's because she's looking for the same thing as him. She sees the pain and heartbreak he feels and aspires to be the right one for him. Depending on how one may look at it, she's either trying to fix him, he's completely changing her, or he's trying to bring out the true Hayley Granger.
