23: what if..?

"so when is this date?" Beverly asked. "can you stop calling it a date?" you said. "okay fine jeez y/n." she put her arms up in surrender. "why are you like that anyways?" She asked. "What do you mean?" You asked confused. "Like..I don't know. Like, nervous? Or worried?" Beverly said. "What possibly makes you think that?" you said all defensive. "Maybe it's the fact that you know deep inside that mike really likes you but you're just too stubborn to admit it. Which, makes you anxious" Beverly said explaining making things more clear. "oh.." you said, as your whole mood changed. you became way more nervous.

What if he makes a move? Or tries to kiss me?? Oh what if he-

"Y/N!" Beverly yelled catching your attention. "Think about Mike huh?" Beverly said in a cheeky tone. "Oh stop you know nothing would happen. I'm with Stan and mike knows that." you said. "Yeah but anything's possible, right?" Beverly said in your ear as you arrived at home.  "byeeee y/n" Beverly waved uh goodbye. You slightly smiled and waved. You parked your bike inside the garage and went upstairs and plopped into your bed. "What if she's right? Maybe this was a bad idea.." you said as you started to overthink. "the hangout is in two days.." you thought to yourself. "That's enough time to prepare." you sighed. you took a shower, brushed your teeth then went to bed.

narrator's POV
{earlier that day after hanging out with the losers. Now we are with Stan & Bill}

"I mean, Isn't that just being..I don't know..a jerk?" Stan asked. "It's obvious m-mike has a crush o-on y-y/n. If y-you're not c-comfortable with Mike and y-y/n going alone then w-why did you agree with this 'hangout' ?" Bill asked. "I mean mike did say as friends and he knows that I'm with y/n so why would try to steal her?" Stan asked clueless. "S-so it seems you guys a-are stuck i-in a love triangle" Bill slightly laughed. "mike and I are cool we're friends but if he is trying to steal her I swear-"
bill cut you off. "You'll hurt him? Fight him? C'mon Stan. Y-you know f-fighting doesn't do any g-good in this f-friendship, and I'm sure
Y/n w-wouldn't like that s-side of you." Bill said making a point.

"I mean, yeah but what if he is trying to steal her from me?" Stan said all worried. "Stan. Y/n loves you right.?" Bill asked. "Well, we haven't gotten to that phase yet." Stan said. "But do you feel that she loves you the way that y-you do?" Bill asked. "I mean, y-yeah." Stan said pretty confident in his answer but stil not 100% sure. "Then t-there isn't anything to worry about." Bill said. "What if-" Stan got cut off. "No 'What if's' Stan. If you are positive that
y/n loves you then m-mike won't be able to steal her f-from you." Bill said. PERIODT.

{Ben}

he looked carefully at the greenest emerald he's ever seen. "why would they want this..? is it somehow special? Does it do something?" Ben thought as he examined the emerald carefully.
"That's weird.." Ben said looking at his book about emeralds. "There's only a few of emeralds that look like this! So it's rare!" Ben said excited but kept his voice down. "Maybe that's why they want it back. Because it's really rare." Ben thought to himself. "But if it's so rare why would they just leave it in a cave where anyone can take it?" Ben wondered. ben gasped as he read some more. "all of the other rare emeralds are all in Derry..." Ben read as his eyes widened. "Woah! No way." Ben said to himself. "I wonder why all of them are in Derry? What happens when you find all of them?" Ben wondered.

you were still awake and it was already..12:30 am. "Ugh why can't I sleep? I have school tomorrow" you said as you hit yourself with a pillow. Anything's possible, right? Beverly's words echoed in your mind. "Ughh if max were here she'd tell me what to do. C'mon mayfield. Talk to me." You said to yourself. "I miss you max" you thought to yourself while tearing up.
"I could call her..but she's probably busy with her new friends." You thought to yourself, all sad. "Plus, it is late where she is..but maybe one call wouldn't hurt?" you thought grabbing your phone.

you dialed her number and waited nervously as the phone rang.

Max: Lucas I told you to stop-
You: max..?
Max: wait a damn minute..y/n?
You: y-yeah *almost tearing up*
Max: OMG Y/N I miss you so much!!
You: me too!! *crying*
Max: how's my bestie??
You: good!! You?
Max: well, remember Lucas?
You: yeah? The little shy kid.
Max: well, we're dating!!
You: oh my god. Congrats!!
Max: what about you? Any cuties in your town?
You: yeah...his name is Stanley. we're dating"
Max: holy shit..congrats to you!
You: so how's things with will? Did that monster go away?
Max: yeah it did but I think it's coming back but I'm not sure..what about you?
You: there was this psychopath clown killing and eating kids but me and my friends defeated him 😎
Max: you know what?
You: what?
Max: we should all meet up. Like mike, Lucas, will, el, Dustin and me!
You: El? Who's el?
Max: oh right you haven't met her yet but don't worry when we all meet up our friends can get to know each other and maybe we can even fight this shadow monster thing together.
You: it's on! Call you soon?
Max: call you soon!

End call

you sighed. I miss her so much.
