The Maze Runner Preferences and Imagines

Newt Imagine (Jade)

"Jade!" I hear a British voice say. Sweat was rolling down my forehead from running all day in the maze. Thomas and I usually run together and Newt is always there to greet us when we return.

"Hey Newt!" I return a smile. He has been my closest friend ever since I came up in the box.

"Got a second?" He puts his arm around me as we walk side by side.

"Well, I've gotta go map the maze, but you can come if you want." He answers with a smile and removes his arm from my shoulder. Once we get to the map room, I go straight towards the pad and pencil before I forget anything. Newt stands in the corner of the room, arms crossed, watching me draw my section. I would be lying if I said it wasn't a little creepy. I speed up, realizing that he is waiting for me. Once I'm done, I put the supplies away and put my hair in a pony tail, looking up at Newt.

"What did you need me for?" That came out a bit more harsh than I intended, so I smile and motion for him to sit with me. By this time, we are the only ones in the map room.

"Well, it's a little embarrassing, but-" he was cut off by the door opening. Minho walks in and I can smell him from across the room.

"What're you two shanks doing?" He says, not bothering to look up at us. I just roll my eyes and pull Newt out the door to somewhere we won't be interrupted.

"Sorry, keep going." I say once we're alone. He takes a step forward and grabs my hand, making me tense up.

"Well, I really-"

"What's up slintheads!" Thomas comes and nudges Newt, who sighs in exasperation.

"Apparently nothing." Newt says, pushing Thomas away. I turn and watch him leave, only to be pulled back by a strong hand. I turn to look at who is pulling me and find my lips are connected with Newt's. Once I get past the shock, I wrap my arms around his neck and go in deeper before pulling away.

"I had to do that before we got interrupted again." I smile and pull him in for one last kiss, before walking hand in hand back to the glade.
