You and Shawn had been dating for quite awhile now. You always supported him. You were extremely proud of all that he has accomplished. Early this summer, Shawn went on tour with Austin Mahone, The Vamps and Fifth Harmony. It was almost coming up to your birthday. Shawn promised he would be home to celebrate with you. You couldn't wait to see him! You haven't seen each other in months. The only way you could see him was through FaceTime, which wasn't the same. You counted the days and nights till the day he came home to see you.
*On the night before your birthday*
As you were getting ready for bed your phone buzzed. you picked it up and saw that you had a text from Shawn. You read-
Shawn: Hey Y/N ! I miss you so so much! I have some horrible news, I can't make it tomorrow😔 I am so sorry babe. I need to stay on tour, I can't take tomorrow off. I am so sorry Y/N. I love you. Have an amazing day tomorrow babe ❤️
As much as you understood why he couldn't come, you were still upset.
*Your Birthday*
You slept in a little bit, knowing that Shawn couldn't make it. You checked your phone to check the time, and you saw a text from Y/BF/N. You and Y/BF/N had been best friends ever since you could remember. She texted you: Hey birthday girl💘 get ready we are going to lunch! See you in an hour!
I wasn't sure if I wanted to be out today or not. I decided to go to lunch. Y/BF/N picked you up and you drove to a fancy Italian restaurant. You and Y/BF/N had a blast talking and laughing while stuffing your face with unlimited breadsticks. You soon felt better about Shawn not coming home. After you left the restaurant you headed to the mall and shopped around for a little while. Soon after you got to the Mall you were tired and decided to go home. Y/BF/N dropped you off at your house. As you walked in the house, you smelt something burning. You walked right to the kitchen while calling "Mom"... "Dad" but there were no responses. You saw that no one was in the kitchen. As you are looking for your the burning smell you turn your body to the living room and see a stool. You wonder why there was a stool in your living room, and all of a sudden you see someone walk out from the back of the house. You finally realize it's Shawn. Happy birthday beautiful! I missed you so much Y/N! You run into his arms, with tears of joy streaming down your face. I missed you too, you reply. He pulls your body closer to his while giving you a hug. He sits you down on your sofa and pulls out his guitar. He sits on the stool and sings an original song for you. You were blushing uncontrollably. As the song finished you both smelt a fire and ran to the kitchen. There was something on fire in a pot, Shawn puts the fire out and shakes his head in disappointment. You walk closer to him asking what was in the pot. Lasagna, he answered. Or at least it was supposed to be. I wanted to surprise you Shawn said. Don't worry... you did, you said with a smile on your face your eyes lit up more than ever. Seconds later you both broke out into laughter. He grabbed his phone and dialled a number, Hi I'm gonna need one medium cheese pizza please. You giggled and thought how this was your best birthday ever, even if all you did was binge watch Netflix while eating pizza with your amazing boyfriend... Shawn Mendes.
