I had weird dreams full of drowning people, tap dancing snakes, and yodeling goats. I knew I was lying on the living room couch from the grey walls and the picture of twins picking flowers on the wall. I drifted in and out of consciousness for a while, but I remember seeing my aunt arguing with two people. Vera was one of them, but I didn't recognize the boy.

"She's not ready! If she goes now she could end up getting hurt!" My Aunt insisted. I didn't know what they were talking about, but it probably had something to do with the lake incident. Just thinking about it made my head hurt.

Did everyone even get out of the water? Vera and Aunt Isabelle were both here and fine, so I would hope so.

"Mrs. Prost, with all due respect, she's going to get even more hurt if she doesn't come soon enough. She almost died today. If that happens again, and one of us is not there to help, then she won't make it." The boy argued. His voice was deep, and He reminded me of a stereotypical surfer dude with his messy dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a blue T-shirt with a wave logo on it with the words Kupala hiša.

Vera scrunched her eyebrows, glancing back at me. I shut my eyes, pretending to be asleep still. Normally, I'm not one to eavesdrop, but wouldn't you listen to your friend talking about you with your aunt and a stranger? "Besides, she's completely out of control. Powerful, but out of control. I almost had to brisati her. Also, Aliana, I know your listening to us."

I opened my eyes and sat up. My entire body was aching, and it felt like every single muscle in my body was sore.
