TIME: 7 PM

───────────

It was currently night time in Hyōgo.

A normal night for the others, and a miserable night for Y/n.

Suna Rintarou, a 2nd-year Middle Blocker of Inarizaki's Boys' Volleyball team, lived in a condominium.

The middle blocker just came home from the exhausting volleyball practice he had every day.

In his condominium, his neighbor was a grandma.

Usually, it'd be quiet.

But today was different.

Suna had finished doing his night routine and was now watching recordings he had taken of the Miya Twins.

He heard sniffing and some crying noises, but decided to ignore them until it got louder.

He heard it from next door so he went to his small balcony to confront the grandma next door.

He went out and peeked, he saw a small figure sitting down on the balcony next door.

"Excuse me, Grandma L/n. Could you please be less noisy? Thank you"
He said.

The figure didn't listen.

"Grandma L/n-"
He got cut off.

"She's dead."
The figure spoke.

It stood up and faced Suna.
The figure was a girl.

She had H/l H/c hair,
e/c eyes that were red from crying.
Her s/c skin was radiant.

"I'm Mrs. L/n's granddaughter.
She died today of medical causes.",
The girl said, wiping her tears.

" I'm sorry for your loss, ma'am. Your grandma was a great person."
He replied.

She forced a smile.
"don't be sorry, it's not your fault."
she spoke.

He felt bad.
He knew that deep down inside her, she was still hurt.

"You don't have to keep it all in, you know.
It's okay. You can speak, I'm listening."
He said.

Y/n was slightly shocked by this.
No one ever really listened to her problems, so she always kept it in.

She smiled, genuinely this time.
"Thank you."
She said as tears flowed down her cheeks.

" My grandmother had been diagnosed with cancer not so long ago. The doctors recommended she went to Tokyo or somewhere with better treatment for her cancer. She refused, saying that if she was going to meet death soon, she wanted to meet it in Hyōgo, where she grew up."
She said, her voice cracking.

"She said that she also met some people she would not be wanting to leave, one of those people being her neighbor. My family eventually gave in to her request. We're not from around here. We only came here to visit her so, thank you. Thank you for taking care of my grandmother."
She added while looking in Suna's eyes.

"You're welcome."
He replied.

"Would you like some tea? I have leftovers as well."
Y/n offered.

"Yes, please. Thank you"
He replied.

She smiled at him, which he returned.

for Y/n, that night was truly unforgettable.
