They were mesmerised by the lights that lit up the skies and helped the nightlife carry on until the early rays of sunlight appeared at dawn. Taxi horns honked and shone their headlights at drunk partygoers; who walked the streets after deciding 3am was the time to go home and sober up. A cool, crisp wind blew through the air, whisking away fallen leaves and rubbish left behind by city goers, and carrying it far away. Winter was coming, the air was cooling and a women moved inside to the comfort of her warm, crackling fire. The pavements would soon be covered in a thick, white sparkling blanket of snow; which would arrive in a few short weeks. The lights of New York City mesmerised many who arrived in the City of Lights and gave hope to those leaving.
