I cant breathe

In the recent times, I see so many posts on the social media about an African- American who was choked to death by an American police officer. World has become so cruel. The worst thing is people sharing it on social media just to forget it later. It is good to see so many Americans coming out to protest for justice. Let's now talk about India. I see so many Indians including my friends, celebrities and much more people sharing this picture of "I can't breathe" with a black background. Isn't it funny that we are talking about racism in India? Before sharing things on social medias, can we Indians think about us first?
There are certain questions I would like to ask everyone and this includes me as well. How many times have we called an actor or an actress or a random person 'ugly' just because of their dark skin? How many times have our youths rejected a bride or a groom because of their skin colour? How many Indians are so scared of their child being born with a dark skin? How funny is it now to share this post as an Indian? Hypocrisy at its peak. You know where it all started. It started within us. It started when even schools promoted racism by not allowing certain kids to perform the main role just because of their skin. You are lying if you don't accept me with the fact I just said. Everyone is beautiful. Everyone has their own charm. That is what we must believe in.

Sharing in social media for name sake isn't going to bring any change. So many celebrities and famous personalities are sharing this with a simple caption just to escape from people's criticism for not raising their voice against such activities. Share it only when you aren't a racist in the first place. Call people ugly based on their character and not on their skin. Everyone deserves equal respect in this world. Start by changing yourself not by changing your profile pictures. There's nothing called black or white. All lives matter. Be the change you want to bring. Love all and Respect all.
