It was 11:33 pm, nearly close to midnight.

Sitting alone in the dim lit room, Abbacchio silently groaned to himself as he poured himself yet another glass of wine. He sat quietly in the living room, waiting patiently as the minute hand on the clock continued to tick by.

It's been approximately nineteen hours since you left.

You were currently attending your cousin's wedding ceremony, although you did try to get him to come along with you, however he had refused; stating that he didn't like weddings in general and had no intention of putting on a suit. Knowing damn well, if he did, he'll stand out like "gum on a smooth clean marble surface."

Ok, perhaps he was exaggerating just a bit!

He just didn't want to go and that was that!

You and Abbacchio have been together for nearly two years now. When you first started dating him, you knew what you were getting yourself into from the start. You knew he was a gangster, and was apart of Italy's most notorious gang, The Passione.

Though, you were shock to discover that he used to be a police officer, but didn't press him about his odd change in career.

You knew he really didn't like bringing up the past or anything too personal, so you let it be.

People always wondered how in the world could you, of all people, whine up with someone like Leone Abbacchio.

Unlike him, you were like a ray of sunshine. You were always outgoing and very enthusiastic compared to his 'moody' attitude. You were the first to confess your feelings (which he had yelled at you via telling you to "fuck off") and after a total number of 112 rejects later, he finally gave in to your charm.

Honestly, he didn't know what came over him when he'd said yes to you, perhaps it was your stubbornness to never give up or maybe because you were just too damn persistent. Or better to say, opposites really do attract.

Abbacchio took another sip from his wine glass at that cheesy thought before leaning back into the arm chair.

Where the hell could that woman be? No one can't possibly take this long to get fucking married? He thought, but he was somewhat starting to get worried as several 'what ifs' began clouding his mind.

And to say that he was starting to miss you, would be mortifying to his pride.

As if on cue, there was a soft thump coming from the front door followed by the sound of ratting keys.

Abbacchio stood, feeling a bit relieved now that you were finally home. His mind was a bit cloudy from the wine but he was still sober enough as the door clicked.

When you opened the door, he turned on a lamp revealing himself to you.

"You're late, do have any idea what time it is?" He scolded.

"Aww! Where you worried about me? Sorry tesoro, but the wedding reception lasted a bit longer than I thought!" You smiled at him tiredly.

It was than Abbacchio noticed you were barefooted, your silver stilettos in your left hand whilst you carried a dinner plate in the other.

Your hair was undone and the blue and (f/c) gown that you wore was ripped slightly at the hem.

What kind of wedding did you go to?

"Why the hell is your dress ripped and the reason you're walking around barefoot?" He asked walking up to you and guiding you over to the sofa to sit.

"Well first, I got into a fight with this girl over the bouquet and second, my feet started hurting since I forgot to bring an extra pair of shoes." You explained.

"Oh and I saved you a slice of wedding cake!" You held the dinner plate up to him as he took it and opened it to see a blueberry cake slice with white frosting and a sugar blue rose.

You watched in awe as he scooped some frosting onto his finger and licked it.

You didn't miss the way his amber colored eyes lit up in slight delight.

Damn that's good! He thought.

Realizing you had been watching him, Abbacchio cleared his throat before closing the plate's lid and sitting it down on the coffee table.

"I'll eat it tomorrow cause right now, it's late and you need to go to bed!" He gestured towards your worn out appearance.

"Yeah, I am a bit sleepy!" You groaned feeling you aching muscles and sore feet throb.

Abbacchio notice your eyes getting heavy. At that moment, no words needed to said as he lean down, hooking both his arms around your waist and legs. Using all his strength, he lifted you bridal style and started toward your shared bedroom.

"Grazie caro!" You say softly before giving him a quick peck on the lip.

"I love you!"

Abbacchio groaned annoyance but couldn't stop the blush that highlighted his face. Luckily you were already sound asleep to even witness it. He gave defeated sigh before looking back down at your relax face.

"I love you too, amore!" He whispered softly, giving your forehead a loving kiss.

Though he would never admit it out loud, but you were just as sweet as any blueberry.
