♠♥Chapter 36♣️♦️
After grabbing a salad from the cafeteria later that day, Charlie instinctively notices her normal group of friends she typically hangs out with including Ty. When she was dating Carson, she always sat next to him. It seems only fair to give Asher the same attention, even if he wouldn't care as much as Carson did. Plus it'll give her time to hang out with Oskar, an emo friend of hers that she rarely gets to socialize with because they don't normally run in the same circles.
As she walks up to Asher's group a sense of unease starts to build in her when she realizes that the majority of people sitting around him are females. She really isn't in the mood to deal with the potential shit storm they'll undoubtedly cause.
"Hey!" Oksar, the pale blonde boy, with black tips grins up at her. "You're coming over to hang out with me?"
"Uh," Charlie, glances over at Asher's table, not really wanting to hurt Oskar by saying no. "Sure." Charlie sits down next to Oskar at the picnic table, telling herself Asher will never notice anyway. He's surrounded by two of his guy friends, and a chick. Maybe two? It's hard to tell with the horde that tends to float around him.
Realizing the situation, Asher rises to his feet and saunders over with the Goth Witches by the students of Stem. His friend Codie and Nadia's boyfriend, Hades, join them, taking Nadia's hand.
Oskar's eyes go slightly wide as worry grows within his silver eyes., "Crap."
"What?" Charlie asks as she follows his gaze over her shoulder, only to see Asher behind her.
"She's a friend of mine." Oskar blurts out, jumping to Charlie's defense. "She's cool. We're just hanging out."
Rolling his eyes, Asher gestures for the kids beside them to move only to have Mira, her black hair braided in pigtails slide in across from Charlie with Hades and Nadia while Asher sits on her right leaving Codie to sit beside him.
Oskar stiffens, having no idea what the hell is going on, as he looks around at the more serious emo and goth kids. "She's not going to cause anyone any problems."
"He knows." Charlie assures him. "We're friends, Oskar."
"I'm in shop class and art with her." Asher decrees as he sits beside her, his hand brushing her leg in such a way his fingers rest against it.
Charlie laces her hand into his and stabs at her lettuce awkwardly with her non-dominant hand, as she leans into him.
"So... uh," Oskar looks at the two of them, clearly realizing that they aren't just friends. "So I haven't seen you around the skatepark lately."
Sighing Charlie nods. "It's that time of the year to start my good girl routine."
Asher flashes her a sideways look, but doesn't say anything on the matter while his friends talk amongst themselves.
