"Many people believe in the existence of Destiny, a mysterious force which binds certain people together, determining their fates. According to believers, one can either follow the path of Destiny of one's free will or try to resist it, although the latter can bring grim consequences. On the other hand, some feel that Destiny is not everything. These people say that something more is needed in order to bind two lives together, even if the rules of fate decide otherwise."

In one less effort to end nilfgaard's reign of terror, Hestia de Aretuza, among with other mages, entered a battle no one could win. With a men power to even dethrone kings, the emperor was able to absorve many lands, including Cintra.

However, it wasn't all in vain, since with the alleged death of Hestia de Aretuza, also known as The Burning Witch, a revolution started, as she became a martyr to many people who wanted to believe there was more to life than watch Nilfgaard overrule everyone and take every single land in front of them.

A war of outstanding proportions started, as they tried to overthrow the nilfgaardian empire.

The Burning Witch now had a new name, seen almost as a religious figure, now, she was The Goddess of Fire. And who once was been hunted for been what many considered a beast, was now praised for her power and sacrifice.

Some believed she was deceased, having met her death in the battlefield, other believed Nilfgaard had taken her as prisoner and others believed she had escaped to a small village in Toussaint.

There enters Geralt of Rivia and his new companion, the young Ciri, with one last quest, to find Hestia.
