Nao POV:
"So you told them to leave you behind?" Washijoo asked while lying ill in bed.He had gotten bitten by a Z maybe a month ago and he was pale as a sheet, according to the others he was already pale but the bite made it only worse, making him look like a talking corpse.
Washijoo had neither been forced to take drugs nor anything else. He just got bit when running away from the people in the asylum and didn't turn.
But after some time passed, he first started becoming paler, then unable to fight and shortly after he couldn't even walk.
In other words: I got lucky. I got bitten, but it was just a mere bite, not from someone infected aka. A zombie.
The coach on the other hand wasn't lucky and was slowly turning.
My bite was starting to disappear, while Washijoo's remained even after 1½months.
"Yeah... If I was gonna die, atleast I could try not to infront of them." I answered truthfully to his question earlier, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Then again, if it weren't for Tendo and Semi I would propably be dead by now..."
In a way, if Washijoo didn't surviving a bite, Tendo and Semi would have left me behind too...
It was silent for a few minutes before the old man before me spoke up. "Semi told me you held a gun up against your head before he found you?"
Semi saw me?!
Looking up to the coach, his face looked even more serious then his normal face.
"I... Um.... I mean.. It's not that I wanted to-" I tried to get atleast something out only to fail.
Even while on his death bed, Washijoo managed to scream at me. "So you wanted to kill yourself?!?!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, loud enough to attract atleast a handful of Z's. "Before you even knew if you were gonna die or not?!? The audacity of youth these days!!!!"
Ushijima and the rest who were just down stairs quickly came up to calm the man down. It almost seemed like this happened every now and then, from how casual everyone was reacting.
"Please calm down coach. You'll attract Walkers again."
"Sir, you're gonna scare Nao away..."
He reminded me of my own parents, always naging.
It's not like I wanted to die... Geez.
But then again, I found comfort in him having such a reaction over me almost dieng, even though we just met. It made me feel like maybe I wasn't to alone in this world.
---
"Please don't take it personaly, our Coach has always been like that." Semi scratched his head apologeticly, looking down.
"No hard feelings." I answered, able to walk a bit better by now.
Apparently the guys were a highschool-volleyball-team just picking things up in their Coaches vacation home, this wooden house in the woods. And ended up having to stay cause of the outbreak.
Half the house was made of glass making me anxious since we could be seen from miles away. But the others weren't to concerned since the most about of Z's that ever came were five.
There was a stream right beside the house and they were growing small vegetables here and there.
They weren't a big group like Daichi's with 100+ people but in a way certainly a much stronger one, considering they were mentally much stronger.
