Electing The Alpha

Chapter 55:

                   Nicole POV

Jake ruffles his hair as I follow him into the hall. Its clean as usual. How could he be so clean all the time?  I sit in a couch and face him
"Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?" Jake asks me
"No! I'm full" I tell him and he smiles back.
"Okay" he replies and stands right in front of me.
"So what do we do now?"I ask him taking in ragged breaths. He standing close to me has got my heart beating so fast as if I have just ran a marathon. I could feel his body heat exude off him with his cologne which smells like rose petals and mint in a way.

" I have something to tell you"he says and I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion. He squats and rests his arms on my thighs making my breathing accelerate.
"What?"I ask wondering at the same time battling with my raging hormones.

" Christmas would be here soon and my dad and I have decided to go to  England. "He tells me with a small smile and my eyes grow wide.

" Really?"I ask
"Yes. We would be going with my stepmother and stepbrothers. I can't wait to see Jessica and mom again"he says whiles drawing lazy circles on my left thigh making my skin tingle and I  gulp. He notices this and smirks. Jerk!

"How would your mom take it if she finds out your dad married another woman?" I ask him and he sighs.

"I don't really know! But am sure my dad will explain everything to her"

"I hope so too! But you guys are going to become one big family again"

He nods with a charming smile.
"Yes! And I want to invite you! Would your parents agree?"

I am appalled. Jake wants me to come with him?
"You want me to come with you?"
He grins meaning yes
"I thought you wanted to meet my mom and Jessica soon"

"Yes I know but its surprising. But I would love to go" I say
"What about your parents?"
"I'm sure they'll agree."
"Well then! I'll take that as a yes"

Jake pecks my cheek and I'm so overjoyed.
"What happened to your knee?" Jake says pointing to the scar on my knee. The one I obtained when Alec and I were running away from the  brown bear. Shit! I should have worn leggings instead.

"Errr..." I trail off. I can't lie to him again or else he will go mad.
"Alec and I went to a forest and we got chased by a bear. Whiles running, I fell and got this injury. Alec treated it for me" I say and Jake's expression darkens.

"My good old brother treated it for you? So romantic!" Jake taunts
"Anyways, enough with Alec okay?" I scold
Jake chuckles
"He is a nice guy but you were too busy hating him that's why you couldn't notice it"
"I hated him because I thought he took you away from me"

I giggle.
"You are so pathetic" I tease him and poke his cheek.
"I promise to reconcile with him later. I know my dad will be really proud."
"Yeah of course" I tell him. He gets up and sits beside me.

His phone rings.
"Who is it?" I ask whiles he looks at the caller ID
"Kate" he snorts in a bored tone
"Don't pick up" I tell him
"Do I look like I'm gonna pick up?" He taunts and I giggle.
The phone stops ringing and I smile satisfied. Then it begins to ring again and Jake groans.

"Hello" he said lowly into the phone
Why should she call this moment?
"What? You are here?" Jake blurts and my heart jumps into my throat.
"Okay. I'll be at the door" Jake says and hangs up.

"Kate is here" Jake whispers to me and I become bug eyed
"What do we do?" I whisper back panicking.
"Come with me" Jake says and I follow him into his room.
"Stay here until Kate leaves. As soon as she leaves, I will come for you" Jake whispers
I nod and he pecks my forehead before closing the door.
