Step 9: Give Him A Hug

Atsushi could feel Ranpo's glare the next day at work. From that alone, he knew his idea didn't work.

Naomi could feel the glare too since she strutted up to the detective.

"Just give him a hug", she said.

Ranpo looked up at her.

"That's it?".

"Yep that's it".

Ranpo tilted his head.

"I don't think that will work Naomi".

Naomi glared at him.

"Fine then. I'll show you!", she exclaimed.

Ranpo then watched as she walked up to her brother and pounced on top of him.

He watched as a blush formed on both of the sibling's faces. Ranpo then had to quickly turn away when things went south.

But Naomi did have a point. Poe would definitely not be able to categorize a hug as something friendly.

Ranpo then deflated.

Poe did categorize hand-holding as a friendly notion.

"Just try it Ranpo", Kunikida barked from his desk.

Ranpo sighed. He truly had nothing to lose.

Poe couldn't explain why he was here again.

And he definitely couldn't explain why he was being held by Ranpo.

"Um... Ranpo?".

A small muffled "What?" is heard.

"I-is there a r-reason y-you are holding me?".

"Yes", was all Ranpo said before he started to squeeze Poe harder.

Poe let out a small whimper at the sudden pressure.

When Karl heard it leave his lips he immediately pounced onto Ranpo.

The next few minutes were then filled with screams, curses, and Poe trying to get Karl off of Ranpo's face.

"I'm s-so sorry", Poe apologized once again.

"I already said it was fine Poe", Ranpo said.

"Stop moving Ranpo", Yosano hissed as she suddenly slapped the bandaid onto Ranpo's face.

"Ow! That hurt Yosano", Ranpo whined. Yosano rolled her eyes.

"Then stop moving, idiot".

Ranpo just glared and then pointed towards Karl.

"You little villain! How dare you ruin my perfectly good face", Ranpo snapped.

Karl hissed at him as he paced on Poe's shoulders.

"S-sorry about h-him".

"I already told you it was fine so stop", Ranpo spat out. He regretted it immediately when he saw Poe's shoulders suddenly sink down.

"Um, I'll forgive you If you hug me", Ranpo stated.

Poe jumped up and exclaimed, "Really!".

"Yes, now hug me", Ranpo demanded.

And he was so happy when Poe all but jumped at him. His arms wrapped around his shoulders while his breath fanned his neck.

Ranpo then blushed when he realized that Poe was almost sitting in his lap.

Luckily Poe didn't seem to notice.

But shitty Dazai did.

He let out a small giggle before hiding his face behind his favorite book.

Ranpo decided to ignore him for now and instead focus on Poe who was still hugging him.

When he finally released him Poe looked at him.

Ranpo sucked in a breath when he realized one of his eyes was uncovered.

"W-was t-that enough?", Poe asked. His uncovered eye filled with uncertainty.

Ranpo smiled.

"Yeah, that was more than enough".

Step 9: Completed!
