This is not an important matter, but in Arquis, you can't ruin nature, no matter what. If you use your powers to destroy nature, it's a serious violation. The powers are gifts, from mother nature, itself. So ruining nature is close to ruining yourself.
The Haymyl family, who were powerful and wanted more power, didn't care about this. They didn't violate magic and nature, but they didn't embrace it either.
The rules must be followed by every person in Arquis. There isn't severe punishment, but people who break them will have to suffer something, remorse.
