@claudimar1; I never thought we should be fighting in this day and age to have equal rights like any other human being on this planet, it really made me think about everything that has happened in my life so far, a child should not Having hair cut in certain hairdresser because it's black, on comments from growing teachers, being called the N word as he crosses the street to decide what to wear so I don't get stopped by the police, look at bus and train, to be selected at airports, the list goes on. The conversations have started and so many stories have been heard that I can relate to, it's hard to come to an agreement, it's just not right AND CHANGE IS MOVING HAS STARTED AND IT DOESN'T STOP. I HAVE A VOICE AND A PLATFORM. I am going to use it.

@avamurphy; grateful to be part of something so powerful and loud yet so peaceful today. the man who led the march knelt while he spoke on what this movement means to him and what he endured all his life as a member of the black community. he explained that marching is not about "taking down the police," but about standing up for good and making noise to change something. Then he had us come to the intersection and press our face down with our hands behind our back and shout "I can't breathe", "My stomach hurts" and scream for help. That was overwhelming for many of us and even brought tears to my eyes. Hearing the words of this man and putting myself in the position of people from the black community opened my eyes further to the terrible things that happen in America every day. I feel I have been able to wake up to all of this and realize how much privilege I really have in my life. I understand that racism is still very real and I just want us to get together to change something. I included a link in my bio along with a highlight for resources to donate and sign petitions.
