A really cute guy just messaged me on facebook. Merry Christmas to me!
And you guys too :)

Charlie was still pretty young, but she knew exactly what Christmas meant. We didn't know which she loved more, seeing her grandparents or the presents that they brought. Instead of having to rush and fly up to Canada or to my parents place, we decided to have dinner at our place this year.
It was pretty big. My siblings and their families were here and Taylor flew down with Sidney's family. We also invited a few of the baby Penguins that wouldn't be getting to go home for the holidays. The more the merrier, right?
Shopping for Charlotte was pretty easy for me. Sid picked out most of the toys and I made her a couple blankets. If Christmas didn't show she was daddy's little girl, I don't know what would. That might cause a problem when she wants to start dating, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
"We need a new tree." I told Sidney as we walked through the store. Charlotte was off on a playdate while we tried to finish up her shopping. Most of it was done online.
"Okay. How big do you want it?" My husband started looking around at the selection they had. The room where we normally put the tree had a pretty tall ceiling, so we didn't have to really look for a specific size.
"Ten feet good?" I walked over to the last tree that height.
"Perfect."
Decorating a tree with an almost two year old isn't what I would call easy. It definitely looks like a two year old decorated the bottom, but that's what made it all the better. Sidney put Charlotte on his shoulders to put ornaments on the top of the tree. I, of course, was taking pictures while all of this was going on.
When Christmas Eve rolled around, Charlie couldn't wait to open presents. I don't blame her though. Sid had spared no expense with her gifts. The two of us have him wrapped around our fingers but I don't think he would have it any other way.
Sidney helped me put out the items from Santa when everyone went to sleep. We had put together stockings for our family members. The penguins coming over just got some chocolate and a bottle of liquor.
"So are you ready for your present?" He asked when we finally sat down for the night. It was only midnight, but my family had completely worn me out. I'm sure tomorrow would be even worse.
"What could you possibly get me that I don't already have?"
I had a perfect, well almost perfect, husband. He definitely had his faults, contrary to popular belief. A beautiful little girl and the best family anyone could ask for. I definitely didn't need anything more.
"A two week vacation in Europe, just the two of us."
"So you're hauling off Charlie to her grandparents house?" I raised a brow, knowing he would feel bad about leaving her behind.
"Hey, Charlie gets a week with each set of grandparents and we get two weeks alone in whatever countries you want to go to."
"Thanks, Sidney. You're the best. Now let's go to bed. We've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow."
That was an understatement. Charlie was up at 6, playing with the toys Santa had brought for her and then the rest of the family arrived at 8 to open the rest of the presents and our moms started cooking right at 11. There was no time for me to take a nap or even slip away.
"Go take a nap. I have things handled."
"No. I'm going to stay up, I don't want to miss anything."
"I don't want you to fall asleep during dinner."
"Then come nap with me." I gave him my pouty face which was known for helping me get what I wanted.
"Fine. I guess I can do that." He pulled me to the bedroom, closing the door behind us. He unfolded the blanket from the foot of the bed and wrapped it around the two of us. It was only two and we still had a lot to get done, but this nap was definitely needed.
