(y/n)'s pov

"Oh hey Shirabu I didn't see you," I nervously chuckled. I got what I wanted from the vending machine and noticed Shirabu was having issues with the vending machine. I laughed at the way he got somewhat upset at the vending machine. "Here let me help you," I said reaching my arm up and getting the bag that was stuck. I handed it to him.

"Thanks (y/n)," He said. I hummed in response and opened up my (favorite drink). "Could I practice setting with you (y/n)?"

I nodded, "In exchange you're going to do something with me," I said. He looked at me, disgruntled but nodded, "We're going to skate for a little."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously," I said, "I'll meet you at the gym in 10?" He nodded. I went to my house and grabbed a bag, packing a long sleeve and my skates for after. I began jogging to the gym and I caught up to Shirabu who was walking. "So I heard you're a very stable setter Shirabu," I said, "It's nice when you have a consistent setter." We went inside the gym putting our stuff on the side and we did a quick stretch. "I'm ready when you are," I said, "Also feel free to experiment. No matter the toss I'll always win the point."

We began practicing. He kept doing simple high tosses at first but changed it up. I could tell he seemed a bit hesitant at first but after seeing me hit it he was a little more confident. Suddenly Tendou appeared in the doorway. "Shirabu setting to (y/n)? I want to join in the fun," Tendou said. The red head went on the other side of the court standing right in front me, "I hope you're ready to get blocked."

"I hope you're ready for a surprise," I said. Shirabu served the ball, I received it and he set it to me. At the exact same time I went Tendou did too, he watched me very closely but I still got the ball past him. Shirabu and Tendou both looked surprised.

"I couldn't tell where the ball was going???"

"Surprise," I stuck out my tongue and patted him on the shoulder, "It's okay I'm sure you'll figure it out." We did a few more runs and Tendou would always end up going the opposite way or not moving to the side.

"Welp I'm done," Tendou said picking up his stuff and walking out.

"Since you've held your end I guess we're going to skate," Shirabu said.

I looked at him, "You know you don't have to if you don't want to...it was more like a test but I'd be more than happy to show you." The second year looked off to the side for a moment and then at me.

"Okay I'll join you," he said. We both went into the one locker room since it was normally just me and a coach. We went on opposite sides of the lockers and changed.

"Have you ever skated before," I asked while putting on my long sleeve.

"No," I heard him say form the other side.

"Well you're in for a treat or for a lot of pain," I chuckled. I put on my skates then went to the other side to see him struggling with the skates I gave him. 'This look suits him.'  "Here," I crouched down and helped him tie the skates. I pulled him up and by the time we got out I had set the gym to ice skating setting. I went onto the ice backwards skating around while keeping an eye on Shirabu who was struggling to get on to the ice. "Need h-"

"Yes," he cut in. I made my way to him. I reached my hands out for him to grab which he did quickly. I slowly backed up but he stayed just outside the rink.

"I'm pretty sure you have to be on the ice to skate," I said holding back a laugh. I then reassured him saying, "I won't let you fall." I helped him skate a few laps and just as we were making our way to get off he slipped. I instinctively pulled him in close to me. "Told you I wouldn't let you fall," I said. After we finished we exited the gym together. "So what'd you think," I asked.
