"I was right about you in the first place!" I screamed,"You're just a stupid, rich, jerk!" My words hung in the air and Draco's face just fell a little. It shaped into a scowl almost immediately. He scoffed.

"Fine." His words were deathly calm,"But don't come running back to me when your life falls apart." He turned and started walking out of the room. I tried to catch his hand but he just pulled it away.

"No, Draco, I didn't mean that, you know I didn't mean that." I felt a pit in my stomach, and I wanted to throw up. I followed him out of the room. "Draco, I swear, you can't just walk away because I will follow you to the end of the Earth-"

"Stop." His voice was cold, and his footsteps stopped. He turned around and just shook his head."You won't follow me, you wanna know why? Because you're too afraid of what everyone thinks of you. Because you know, if you follow, I'll tell you that I can't hide this anymore. You won't follow me because you can't handle the truth. You won't because you're scared, and you know it."

I watched him walk down the hall until I couldn't hear his feet hitting the ground. I let his words sink in. He was right. I was too scared of what other people would think if I was dating a Slytherin to make our relationship public. I told him no, even though I knew that keeping our relationship a secret was hurting him. I put myself above him, and that's what caused all of this.

It wasn't his quidditch practices running long. It wasn't that he had to study for tests. It wasn't that he wasn't making time for me because he was. It was my fault. I  didn't go to his games. I thought that it would be better if we studied separately. I  was afraid that someone might catch us. I  was the reason that everything had fallen apart. And now I don't know how to fix it.
