There is a time when we come around and believe we are  extraordinary. Be cause it's the truth we are. We often believe that if we date someone or buy something. Or get a certain job, it would make us less extraordinary. But that truth is, nothing we do can make us ordinary. We are raised and taught to be extraordinary. And that's what we are. We often don't give ourselves credit for that. Often times we have a lot going on, that we forget, we hide in our shell because we are afraid of what the world will think. But nothing happens. The world can't judge you. So what's the point of hiding, thinking we're ordinary? When in reality we aren't.

I sat down on the couch. I couldn't think straight. What grabbed my attention the most was the way he acted. Not because he yelled at me, I didn't care about that. But it was what he yelled about. It was as if he was jealous. Whatever it was. we both over reacted. I laughed. God, how can someone like Evie do so much harm? I didn't mean it in a bad way, but, what did I ever do to her? I never did anything.  My train of thoughts stopped when I heard the knocking on the door. I sat up, taking my heels off and leaving them by the couch as a stood up and walked to the door. Steve stood there. His hands in his pockets.

"Hey, come in." I said opening the door wider for him, inviting him inside.

"Listen, I'm sorry for how I reacted. It wasn't my place to act like that. It's not that I didn't want you dating him or anything, it just bothered me that you stopped talking to me. I guess it was my fault too for not trying to talk to you and ask why you were so serious. I just thought what you needed was time." He sighed. I looked at him.

"Don't worry about it. We were both lied to and played. There isn't much we did wrong other than completely ignoring eachother. That's in the past now.." I said smiling.

"I'm glad." He smiled back. He pulled me into a warm hug. I felt safe, like nothing bad had ever happened.

"I probably interrupted you, what were you gonna do?" He asked.

"I was going to just rest but if you want we can study and practice for the test while baking cookies." I said.

"Will your parents be okay with me being here?" He asked.

"If you're worried about that, don't worry they aren't here. But if they were here, they wouldn't mind either." I said as I led him to the kitchen table, bringing my math textbook. I got some ingredients out of the fridge and the pantry to make the cookies.

"So we're doing chapter eight right?" He asked. I nodded my head as I poured the ingredients in a bowl.

"So we have to make an equation with the given variables and solve it and make it have sense?" He asked.

"Yep. That's all you do. It seems hard but don't overthink it. When you overthink math it becomes hard." I said.

He read all of my notes in my textbook. "Here, In the back of the chapter there are practice problems. I have paper in the back of my notebook. You can work on those if you'd like." I said. He nodded and opened my notebook. I placed the cookies in the oven and sat down.

"Did I do it right?" He asked. I walked behind him and leaned down.

"Yeah! You did it great!" I said as I sat down next to him.

"Thank you." He said as he leaned back in the chair.

"Of course," I smiled.

We continued working until the oven beeped. Signifying that the cookies were ready. I grabbed the baking pan from the oven but yelped as I burned myself.

"Fottuto figlio di puttana!" I yelled as I grabbed my hand.

"Woah! Are you okay?" Steve asked as he ran towards me.

"Sorry! I don't usually cuss but when I do, I do it in Italian." I said as I ran my palm under cold water.

"Hey, don't worry about that, I'm worried about your hand. Is your hand okay?" He asked.

"It hurts like a bitch but I'll survive." I chuckled. He took the cookies out of the oven and placed them on the stove, I sighed. I soaked a rag in water and placed it over my hand. I sighed and sat down. Steve sat infront of me.

"I'm sorry, I took the liberty to look around the bathroom and found a cream for the burn." He said.

"Oh it's fine, it's the guest bathroom, and you're right ahead of me." I said as I took the rag off.

"Here sit on the counter so I can get more light and see your hand." He said. I smiled seemingly and stood up, sitting on the counter. Steve stood next to me and examined my hand. There was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" I yelled. The door opened, revealing Mer and Soda.

"Well what's going on in here?" Mer asked.

"I burned myself." I sighed as I showed her. Steve finished applying the cream and bandaged my hand.

"Thank you." I said.

"Well, Mer and I have news." Soda said. I looked up and got off the counter, with help from Steve.

"What is it?" I asked.

"We're dating." Mer said.

"Soda, you managed to break Meredith huh?" I asked

"I guess I did." He said laughing.

"Well I'm very happy for the both of you." I said. They both smiled.

Steve and Soda said their goodbyes and took a box of cookies with them. I decided to drive Meredith home since it was getting late. "Can you come in with me?" She asked. I nodded. It seemed odd, that she was asking me this, but I agreed.

"Of course." I smiled. We walked into her house.

Mer's mom opened the door. "Hello Meredith, Elena." Her mom said.

Meredith's mom is a serious person. She's very strict with Meredith and thankfully she likes me because if she didn't, Meredith and I wouldn't be the friends we are now. "Mom, I'm dating someone." She said out of the blank.

Her mom looked at her. I stood I few steps behind. "Well it's about damn time you get with someone with good status." Mer stayed quiet, crossing her arms.

"Because he is, from a good social status right?" She asked.

"Mom, he's not rich. He's not the man you would pick out for yourself, but he is so much more than that." Meredith said.

"You know the disappointment I'm feeling right now? Anyone call fall in love and be blindly happy. But not everyone can pick themselves up and to something worth to succeed. I raised you to be an extraordinary human being. So imagine my disappointment when I look at you and realize you are nothing but ordinary! With an ordinary boy! You're out of my house now!" She said. I gasped quietly.

"Okay." Meredith said. She headed up stairs and then came with a suitcase filled with her things I guess. We both walked out and got in the car.

"Can I live with you?" She asked. I nodded my head.

"My parents will be back after New Years but I'm sure they would be okay with it." I assured her. She smiled.

"Thank you." She said as we drove home.

There is always that person, however, that believes that we are ordinary. And when that happens. Walk away. It's the best thing you can do. Sometimes it's hard. Because the person we are walking away from was, is important to us. But do it. Walk away. Because you aren't ordinary. You're extraordinary.
