Walking home from work, I decided to stop by Race Trac, which was right next to my apartment complex
I was working all day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and my manager didn't allow me to have a lunch break
This is what I had to go through in order to be able to provide for me and my family
Even though I was getting paid only $9.82 dollars a hour, I made it work
I shared an apartment with my mom, my 2 brothers Saiyr and Vince, and my baby sister Kia
It was an two bedroom apartment, with 1 bathroom, a living area, and a small kitchen
Out of all the people living there, I was the only one working, so at times it became hard for me to provide for all of us
Both my brothers had a bad background, so it was hard for them to work. My mom was an alcholic and plus she had to take care of my baby sister
It was tough !
Walking into the food mart, I went to the snack aisle and and grabbed two $2 dollar bags of hot fries
Walking to the the back, I opened the refrigirator and grabed 4 sprites
I then went to the front and put my things on the counter in front of me
"8.76", Mr.Ruth told me after ringing everything up
As I was pulling out a crinkled up $10 dollar bill out of my wallet, I felt a presence reaching over me
I seen Travis Scott handing Mr.Ruth a $20 dollar bill. I crispy on at that
IT WAS TRAVIS SCOTT !!
"Th- Thank you", I stuttered
"No problem", he said
After Mr.Ruth bagged up my things and handed Travis his change, I walked out of the store
I walked to my apartment complex and keyed in the code
After the gates opened I walked to my apartment building. I walked up the stairs and got my key out of my back pocket and unlocked the door, walking in
"Ma i'm home", I called
"We in my room", she called back
I walked back to my mom's room and seen that everyone was in their with her
Everyone looked so sad and down
"Wassup with yall today?", I frowned, sitting the black bag on the dresser
My mom just shook her head and handed me a note
I read it out loud
"You are notified that you owe the rent of $3,567 dollars. If you do not pay this rent within SEVEN DAYS after the day you recieve this notice you must vacate and surrender the premises to the landlord by 12 noon on June 22, 2020."
"But ma, my check comes in on the 24th"
"I tried telling that to the landlord but he wouldn't listen"
"But ma...", I stressed
"Look here na. I can't do anything about that. But I found a motel that we could possibly stay in. It's further away from your job, but you'll make it work"
"I always have to make it work ma. What have you done to try and make it work?", I asked. "I work my ass off trying to provide for us, but that's supposed to be your job. I'm tyired ma. I'm fucking tired", I ranted with tears coming down my face
She cracked a smile and took her bottle of Ciroc next to her and downed it
"Work some more", she said
I just ignored her stament, and grabbed the bag of snacks
I opened both bags and gave one to my older brother Saiyr and let him and Vince share that one
I grabbed the other bag and poured a hefty amount into Kia's hand
I then passed all three of them a sprite and walked out, taking the rest of my chips and my sprite with me
"Where mines?", my mom called after me
"Starve bitch", I replied walking out of the house slaming the door behind me
Honestly, I just wanted to go on a walk and clear my head
