"No" Seth whispered "we cannot trust him"

Charlotte-Mae turned her head slightly, listening in on their conversation, her arms still folded over her stomach,

"I know we can't" Sara whispered "but we must. And besides, you trust her"

"You trust her as well, Sara" he replied "all those years they thought she was killed, but she was here this whole time. Her mother and father - even her grandmother and grandfather - will be happy to know that she is alive and well"

"But something has happened to her" she whispered "it seems . . she doesn't remember who she is. She is not the Azalea we know"

"But she is" Seth replied "she just doesn't know it yet"

Charlotte-Mae looked up to the night sky, seeing the stars twinkling like gems, a small smile forming on her lips, but was soon snapped out of her thoughts by a chuckle that emitted from Jack,

"Couple of kids" he chuckled "big wad of cash. What could go wrong?" slamming the hood back in place

". . . Jack, I know things have gone wrong" Charlotte-Mae sighed, looking at him "but I feel like we should keep going. I feel like we could really help them with . . whatever . they're doing"

"Mae, you can't become attached to them" he said softly "they're . . weird and they need to get on with what they're doing so we can have them out of our lives"

"What life?" She asked "I don't have a life. The only thing I'd be going back to is playing my violin on the streets"

"It's safer than going with them" he tried to reason

"Then tell me why I feel normal around them" she said softly "tell me why I don't feel like a freak"

"Mae . . ." He sighed

"Let's just . . keep this going a little longer" she said, shrugging slightly "I mean, what are we going to do? Ditch them at the nearest town? Make them do this thing on their own? They need our help"

". . . Get in" He said

Charlotte-Mae obeyed, climbing in the cab and moving to sit between the siblings, Seth looking at her for a moment before looking down at his lap. She looked at him, her hand finding his, causing his gaze to snap to hers, a small smile forming on their lips as he laced their fingers together with slightly reddened cheeks.

"We know you're frustrated Jack Bruno -" Sara began for an apology but was interrupted by Jack

"No," he said, holding up a finger, "no more Jack Bruno this, Jack Bruno that. I've been asking for answers - "

"You already know the answers Jack Bruno" Sara interrupted him, causing Seth and Charlotte-Mae to look at her "my brother and I, we are indeed not from your planet"

"So that's it?" Jack laughed "mystery solved!"

"Jack!" Charlotte-Mae scolded

"What?" He asked "Mae, do they really expect us to believe that they're aliens?"

She couldn't help but look at the siblings, Seth giving her hand a soft squeeze,

"It is the truth" Seth said honestly

"Really?" Jack said in an unbelieving tone, "well, you don't look like aliens" causing Charlotte-Mae to raise an eyebrow

"Well, what does an alien look like Jack Bruno?" Sara asked

"You know what aliens look like!" He exclaimed "they're those little green people with antennae and laser guns!"

Sara looked taken aback and Seth looked confused and Charlotte-Mae just rolled her eyes,

"You know, 'take me to your leader earthlings.'" Jack continued and made some sort of noise that meant to drive his point across, causing Charlotte-Mae to sigh to herself, then looking at Sara

"He requires some sort of proof" Sara said, earning a small nod, then looking at Seth

"He also thinks you guys are insulting his intelligence" Charlotte-Mae added

"You think?" Jack replied

"But you believe us, don't you Charlotte-Mae?" Seth turned to her and Jack looked bewildered

". . . Actually - " she said

"Mae, you can't be serious" Jack said

"Oh, come on!" She exclaimed "you're being stubborn! Look, I know they are not lying to us. I mean, look at what happened so far today! You can't really explain that"

"I don't care!" He replied "you can't just drop the 'We're aliens' bomb just like that on somebody! Now I've seen some pretty weird things today but you can't expect me to believe that -"

As he said that Sara raised her hand and suddenly everything sitting in Jack's cab began to float, even Charlotte-Mae's backpack and violin case, causing her to lean forward, moving some coins out of the way, grabbing the two objects and setting them in her lap, leaning back against the seat, as if it didn't bother her.

"I have the ability to move objects with my mind" Sara said calmly

"That's impossible" Jack said, being careful not to move

"No, it's quite possible" Sara disagreed, "on our world as well as yours. You cannot do it because you have not unlocked your - "

"Full brain capacity" Charlotte-Mae finished, causing Jack to glance at her

How do I know that?

"No, I don't do it because it's kinda creepy and I would like you to stop" Jack's voice sounded strained

Sara obliged and dropped her hand, allowing the loose objects to fall back down to the ground. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye Charlotte-Mae saw a floating light,

"Jack!" She said urgently

Jack turned back around, panicked and tried to start the cab as the light began to get closer but it wouldn't start, Charlotte-Mae's breathing beginning to pick up slightly as Jack kept trying to start the car, getting more and more panicked,

"Come on. Come on!" He cried, still trying to start it

The lights came closer, Charlotte-Mae's breathing became quicker and Seth, Sara and Jack became more panicked by the second,

"Come on! Drive! Drive!!!" Jack yelled again at the cab

The three teens in the back leaned back away from the lights and Seth noticed Charlotte-Mae's free hand beginning to clench into a fist,

"Sara!" He exclaimed, sounding desperate

Sara, turning away from the lights, immediately wrapped her arm around Charlotte-Mae again and held on tight as the three of them braced themselves.
