Patrolling the area with Paul was always difficult. He and I were always bickering, even over the littlest things. Sam made us patrol together often though, in hopes that we would soon learn to get along all of the time. I don't think Sam had ever dealt with siblings before though, especially twins. If he had, he'd realize that they always fought and argued, no matter the time of day or night.

I'll race you to the end of the treaty line, see who gets there first. - Paul had told me through mind-link, and I let out a wolfish snort.

You'll lose like every other time. - I retorted, before we stood next to each other and took off running.

As we were running through the lands, I smelt a new scent I had never smelt before. It was amazing. It smelt like nature but with a hint of bourbon. I quickly made it to the treaty line first, causing Paul to tackle me to the ground. We fought for a moment, before we realized our time was almost up.

Looking between each other, we decided to race back to the pack house, or rather Sam and his fiance, Emily's, house. Emily fed us all the time, and we were always at their house, so the house was later named the pack house. Emily didn't care, since she loved us and loved cooking for us all of the time, even if we ate a lot.

Once we made it back to the pack house, I quickly shifted back and then slid on my clothes. Making my way inside, Paul not to far behind me, we heard Sam come into the room.

"Were you both playing around again?" He asked, as he walked over to Emily and kissed her cheek.

"No." I retorted simply, over the fact that Sam always accused us of playing around.

"We raced back here, but that was it. We take our patrols seriously." Paul said, before Jared began to laugh.

"Yeah, sure, the Lahote twins taking patrol seriously and not playing around." Jared commented, laughing loudly.

Paul and I quickly turned to him with glares on our faces, which he didn't recognize, since he was too busy laughing.

"Shut up Jared." Paul and I seethed, causing Jared to go quiet instantly.

"Muffin?" Emily offered, trying to weaken the tension in the room.

"Food!" I exclaimed quietly, as my brother smirked.

I quickly grabbed two muffins, before sitting down at the kitchen table. Paul sat beside me, as Sam sat across from us. Jared was too busy watching a movie, probably Scoob, to come over and eat with us. He was such a child, though he was older than Paul and I, just barely. As I finished my last muffin, I watched as Paul went to grab the last one on the plate. Emily quickly smacked his hand, causing him to retract his hand and look at her baffled.

"The last one is for your sister." She said, causing me to grin.

I quickly grabbed the muffin and took a bite, as Paul glared daggers at me. Smirking, I took a huge bite while facing him. Paul and I always fought over food, it was a thing we had done since we were little.

"Hey Krista, do you feel like coming to the store with me? I've been meaning to go shopping, and since you're the only girl that I trust, I was hoping you'd go with me." Emily asked, causing me to nod.

"I'd love to go shopping with you, Em. When were you thinking?" I asked, causing her to shrug.

"Tomorrow morning." She replied, as Sam looked over at her.

"Krista and I have patrol tomorrow morning." He said, and she looked at him with a glare only she could get away with.

"Well, I want her. I don't ask for much." She retorted, causing him to sigh.

"Fine. She'll have patrol the next morning with me." He replied, and she smiled.

"Thank you, Sam." She said, kissing his cheek.

I bit my lip, trying to suppress the smile threatening to come from my lips. I was never use to Sam giving in, but I loved it when Emily got her way. He would give her the world if he could, so if she asked for me, he gave me to her. She didn't ask for me often, so he most of the time complied. I was the only girl on the rez that she would talk to really, since Paul nor Jared had an imprint yet. They would soon though and I knew it. Well, at least Jared would, Paul planned never to have one like I had planned. Sam called us crazy, but I never really seen the appeal of having an imprint.

I mean, for someone to come into your life and practically take it over, not for me at all. I could never have someone take over my every thought and be the reason for me to live. I needed to be myself, and not have someone else to do that for. I mean, don't get me wrong, Sam and Emily are amazing and I am so glad that Sam has Emily and vice versa, but I could never see myself in their shoes, especially when it comes to me being the wolf and the other person probably being human. To be able to keep my secret for too long would be hard.

Sighing, I stood up from my seat and walked outside. Paul, Sam and Emily watched me leave. Sam and Paul went to follow, but Emily made them stay in the house. She knew I needed time to myself, sort of like any other girl would that was stuck in a pack of only male wolves. It was hard to have to be the only girl, but I was able to be myself. I was dangerous and hot headed, which was good for the pack when needed, but I was also a girl and my emotions raged more than theirs ever would...
