DPH Sec 189: We stress the protection of healthcare workers as an essential component for maintaining response strategies.
"How are you feeling Michael?"
I rubbed my eyes as they adjusted to the room. I saw an elderly man reading my charts. He was not wearing a biosuit. I pushed myself into a sitting position.
"Where am I?"
"You're at the medical faculty at HQ. I'm Dr. Stevenson. I have to say that was a close call. You almost didn't respond to the antibiotics," he said.
"Antibiotics," I repeated confused.
"Rifampin X," he replied pointing to the bags of intravenous solutions flowing through a tube in my arm. "It's one of the few effective antibiotics we have stockpiled at HQ. We restrict its use to essential personnel and high ranking officials. They thought we were going to lose you, but I told them the Angel of Death was hard to kill. I guess someone upstairs was looking out for you," he chuckled.
Where the Angel of Death appears, there is no remedy.
God protects the Angel of Death.
