So Psalms is basically a book of praises and songs that David wrote for God. Last year, during my Wednesday Bible Study called the Drive that I used to go to during my sophomore year, we were given time to meditate on the Bible and make our very own Psalms. I'm not a very good lyrical writer but here's what I wrote!
How long must I wait O Lord
for my endless trials of hardship to end?
Everyday my enemies plot against me,
eyeing their prey like a hawk to a mouse.
They tear and rip at me
and leave my carcass to rot for others.
But you picked me up piece by piece
fit me like an unfinished puzzle, finally complete.
You gave me a new heart and the Spirit,
the Word as blazing sword and shield.
With you my heart rejoices in praise,
my renewed heart now alive and full of the Spirit.
Lift up the name of the Lord
for He will raise you up in the darkest hour.
