"So you're really back to stripping, what about Kind?" Kalyce asked me while she mixed a few drinks together.
"I have to get money somehow, my mom watches her at night and I watch her during the day, easy."
"So she doesnt see her dad at all?"
"Ke— her dad can see her when he gets on both knees and apologizes, theres no coming back from the things he's done Im through with that dent head ass nigga."
The audience got a bit loud making us both look over scoffing, of course it was Alexis. The crowd loved her, if only they had known the type of person she was. Or if only Kentrell knew she was still stripping, I knew my baby father and I knew he didnt like that kind of shit, other niggas having the ability to get handsy with her would boil his blood, and she was definetly a side chick cause I would be at home getting my bills payed for me but thats none of my buisness.
I turned my chair to face her and Kalyce took a seat, we watched and judged the fuck outta her performance.
Half the time all she did was shake her ass but she did good and even the crowd loved her, she got ready to do her signature move she did every time to end her performance and the people who knew all got excited.
So she brought herself to the top and upsidown and basically walked on air but she wasnt finished its when she would drop down to do the splits that got the crowd going, so me and Kalyce got up to get a closer view.
She took a second to prepare herself and I swear I could see a smirk on her face which must have thrown her off because she caught everyone by suprise slipping off the pole and falling straight to the cold hard stage floor making us all scream.
The club got silent, I looked at Kalyce and she looked at me and as easily as I could have laughed I denied it.
A couple strippers hopped up on stage and brought her to the locker room.
"We're sorry y'all theres been some 'technical difficulties' as you just saw...The show must go on and we're now introducing, coco delight!"
I guess nothing happened the way they played that off, oh well. I spent the rest of my time dancing with a few of the strippers giving a private dance and watching some of the girls, it was fun when I was just starting and not tired.
The entire car ride home I screamed the lyrics to Call out my name (cuz it still slaps) and even though the song should have made me sad it just made me feel a bit lighter once it ended and here I was pulling into the driveway.
Id moved in already and she had me living under her rules which was understandable.
I turned the key and walked in to an already bright house.
"mom?"
I looked around only to be suprised by her sitting on the couch.
"Oh shi— shoot you scared me, what are you doing woke?"
"Well hello to you too." She patted the spot next to her for me to sit down so I did.
"Ive just been up thinking about this for a couple hours and I'm really curious as to where you go off to at night?"
She meant my job, I dont know why I was shocked she didnt know but I was definitely worried about howd she react when I told her. But I was grown and made grown decisions.
"I thought you already knew."
She shook her head.
"Well— Mom, Ive been working as a stripper for almost a year now."
Her eyes widened, I could see her whole demeanor change.
"You have to be joking Domonique, what makes you think I'd just know that? So that's why you always leave in some spy coat covered from head to toe."
"Its not to hide anything I just cant leave the house in my attire."
"Im not dumb, so you've just been throwing yourself out to any man who wants you? You have a daughter now."
"How else can I make money?"
"How about you get out and get an actual job, maybe if you had gone to college and actually used your brain you'd be somewhere by now. That's probably why your caught up with some deadbeat rapper now who could clearly care less about you."
My jaw dropped, I had nothing to say. Even if I tried I wouldnt know where to start so I just stared at her.
"Im gonna tell you this once Domonique Monet, you're not gonna be selling your body and living under my roof like you arent bringing that hoodlum spirit into my home, now Im giving you the opportunity to better yourself and the least you could do is better for yourself. Let that marinate, ill be in my room." She didnt even bother to say goodnight.
I just stared at the wall trying to process what just happened, all I could feel was fear on who would turn on me next.
