Chaos

I see you running in circles,

Chasing chaos,

Like it's the end of the world.

I see you holding your breath,

Lying lifeless,

Like it's the end of the road for you.

It's so easy to lose control, to let go.

It's so easy to lose ourselves chasing shadows,

So do the hard thing,

Quiet the voice speaking in your head.

Let it rein in, the fire,

The chaos in its breath.

Set aside, for a while, 

Your disturbed state of mind.

And open you eyes, 

To wake up from entropy's paralyze.

I find you standing on the edge,

Ready to soar,

A leap of the faith you lost.

I find you contemplating

Between life and loss,

Counting the cost of chaos.

It's so easy to lose control, to let go.

It's so easy to lose ourselves chasing shadows,

So do the hard thing,

Quiet the voice speaking in your head.

Let it rein in, the fire,

The chaos in its breath.

Step away, close your eyes, 

To calm your demon child.

And open you eyes, 

To burn away anarchy's paradise.

I watched you inciting mayhem,

Inviting chaos,

To the deep recesses of your mind.

I watched you hue and cry,

Succumbing to disarray,

Letting go of the hold of your shrine.

It's so easy to lose control, to let go.

It's so easy to lose ourselves chasing shadows.

You chose the simplest route out,

Gave in to the stigma you built yourself.

Let it rain on, and drown out,

Your peace and control.

Lost your balance, fell away,

Into the abyss you now find.

And open your eyes,

To find yourself engulfed by the chaos you hid inside.
