Chapter 8

Tristans POV

"So, what do you want to do? Friday night!" Christian said, smiling.

"Hmm... Wanna go somewhere?" He nodded.

"Yeah, I gotta change though. Be right down!"

Christians POV

I slipped my sweater off and looked at my left wrist. Small cuts scattered my entire lower arm. Some old. Most new. I bit my lip and looked away.

My sweaters were perfect to cover this. I choose my favourite; An aqua blue sweater with black lines.

I wonder what we'll end up doing...

Tristans POV

I put a pair of pink shorts and a white crop top with a cute monkey on it, aswell as white flip flops. I feel very exposed. Almost all of my scars are showing. But they're a part of me. I have so many. On my thighs. My arms. My hips. But I was determined to do this. To overcome my insecurities.

"Hey Tristan, where do you want to go?" Christian walked down the stairs. I turned around slowly. I hope I don't look too bad.

"Um... Maybe a walk in the park?" He nodded. We both got into his car. He still hasn't said anything about my scars.

I sat on the damp grass under a tree, arms wrapped around my knees. I barely noticed anything around me. So many people gave me mean and grossed out looks.

"Tristan, ignore them. They're just jealous." Christian said, rubbing my back.

"Jealous of what?!" I shouldn't have been so harsh.

Christian pulled back. "Of your beauty." He said quietly.

"I'm covered in disgusting scars! That's not beauty at all."

He shook his head. I stood up and so did he.

"Let's just continue our walk?" I asked, and Christian nodded.

We were talking and walking when a small pair of arms wrapped around my waist. I looked down to see a girl- maybe 13- hugging me. She pulled away.

"You're so brave, showing your scars! I wish I was as brave as you." I smiled, happy tears welling up in my eyes. 

"Thanks so much!" I said.

"Mhm. Well I gotta go... I forgot! You're so pretty, is what I wanted to tell you." I hugged her again and she ran off.
