"are you being serious " i asked , "yes , i'm so excited they're even providing us with a house to stay in when we get there till we find a house " my mom said . "when do we leave " i asked lowly trying to act neutral and not show her how upset i was . "in 2 weeks " she said and my heart sank . "okay cool, i'm gonna head up to my room , could you let mattia in when he gets here " i asked and she nodded before i headed upstairs .
don't get me wrong i was beyond happy for her , and lowkey excited to finally get out of jersey , but mattia and i just sorted everything out and things were going so well . i have no idea how i'm going to tell him i'm moving .

*knock on door *
"hey angel " i heard from my door , i looked up to see mattia standing in my door way . "hi tia " i said . "cmon i have something fun planned " he said and i looked at him confused , "huh" i asked . "put on a hoodie and let's go " he said and i proceeded to do as i was told and grabbed a hoodie before following him downstairs. "see you later kate " he yelled , "bye mom " i yelled
we got into his car and started driving, "okay so where are we going " i asked , "what part of surprised don't you get " mattia chuckled. i fake pouted and just sat quietly listening to the music until we pulled up at a drive in movie place . "this is so cute " i squealed . "figured you were gonna love it " he said . we got our tickets and drove to our spot . "here i got these " he said reaching to the back seat and handing me a packet of snacks . "these are all my favorites how'd you know " i asked smiling at him . "told you i was a simp for you " he said . we were watching greese because it was lowkey mattia's favorite movie but he'd never admit it .

after the movie we went back to my house since it was only around 8pm now and mattia wanted cuddles . we got back to mine and immediately went up to my room before my mom decided to have another half an hour conversation with mattia.
we layed cuddling with mattia on my chest while i played with his hair , he was watching some series on netflix while i scrolled through tiktok . "kels " he asked looking up at me . " hmm" i said still scrolling through my phone . he reached up and grabbed my phone "hey " i said . mattia just chuckled "so listen " he started and i stopped fighting for my phone and listened to him . "i just wanted to let you know how much i care about you and that i really like you a lot " he said shyly and i couldn't help but blush , "you're honestly so adorable and i feel the exact same way " i said grabbing his face and planting a gentle peck on his lips before pulling away . "nahh kiss me again " he said and i leaned in again , this time mattia pinned me down and the innocent peck quickly turned into a heated make out session he slowly made his way to my neck planting kisses all along it .
*mattia's phone rings*
"fuck" he said annoyed before reaching over and picking his phone up . "hello mamá " he said . "okay i'll be home in 5 " he said before hanging up . i looked at him confused "what's up " i asked , "i don't know she just said i need to get home soon " he said before resting his head on my chest again "to be continued " i said and he kissed me gently "definitely " he said before getting up and putting his shoes back on .
i walked him downstairs, "mattia did kelsey tell you the wonderful news " she asked and my heart dropped . "what news " he asked looking at me and then back at my mom . i tried to signal her not to tell him but it was too late . "i got promoted and were moving to LA in two weeks " she let out in one go . mattia seemed frozen in his spot . "wow , i'm so happy for you kate " he said and i heard his voice crack at the end "i need to get home but i'll text you later " he said not even looking at me before walking out .
"what's wrong with mattia did you guys have a another fight " she asked , "no i didn't get to tell him about moving yet and i was waiting for the right time and i guess you caught him off guard now " i said sounding physically defeated . "oh honey i'm so sorry i just assumed you told him " she said . "it's okay mom " i said walking back up stairs . guess i had to start letting everyone know now .
mattia's pov
i walked out of kelseys house and sat in my car . it felt like i had all the air hit out of my body . i drove home feeling completely numb before walking in . "did you hear about kate getting a new job " my mom said as i walked inside "yes i was just at their house " i said lowly . "oh i thought you were with the boys , you didn't have to come home then " she said . "i'm home already now " i said before walking down to my room and flopping on my bed .
i can't believe it , more importantly i couldn't believe she didn't tell me .
*phone rings *
*kelsey is calling *
i answered
"hello"
kelsey :
please don't think i was keeping it from you i only found out when we got back from camp and i was just trying to find the right time to tell you
me :
it's okay , i understand. look i'll call you again tomorrow or whatever i'm just not in the best mood right now .
then i hung up without waiting for a reply .
i scrolled through my contact list before dialing ,
"hey what are you doing tomorrow " i asked , "nothing why " , "come over tomorrow we can get high and just chill or whatever " i said . "okay bet " they said before hanging up
i then dialed the second number . "hey " i said , "mattia ? hi" they said , " look come over tomorrow " i said . "i don't know mattia " they said . " please " i said and i heard them sigh . "okay fine i'll see you tomorrow " they said , "okay see you then " i said before hanging up .
my parents were going away for the entire weekend so this weekend would be perfect to just get my mind off everything .
